Your favorite Whiskey?

Hmm, please forward any further explanation to my PM box. Also refer the name of that chick in your avatar to my PM box.

Black label Jim Beam bourbon. As to why...uh...it tastes best?

One of the best values in whiskey. 8yo, mellow and awesome. I give it to people who love Maker's Mark and they like Jim Beam Black much more.

Lagavulin
16 year old single malt Islay whisky.
Vastly superior to the other Islay malts such as the one-dimensional Laphroaig or oily Ardbeg.

Lagavulin has a complex and luscious taste profile.
It embodies the spirit of the land, from the smoke of the peat muirs to the iodine of the seaweed shores.
Expect to pay almost double the price of a standard single malt.

I applaud your good taste sir.

Currently I have a bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask in my liquor cabinet--something I only drink occasionally, neat. Very good stuff, but as stated it seems pretty simple. Smoky and a bit sweet, and not much more. Certainly not very harsh, which is good in my book. When I eventually run out and again have enough spare money to spend on good liquor, I may have to try the Lagavulin.

Apart from that, I also have a bottle of High West double rye which is better than the cheap Old Overholt it's replacing, but I'd really like to get hold of some Rittenhouse, which is inexpensive and has a reputation for being excellent stuff, but can be hard to find, and as far as I know is unavailable in Indiana. I'll probably just order some online once the High West is gone.
