Wow are the results interesting. So far nobody has voted for the OP not needing to give compelling context, but people still have very different thresholds

It is clear from the results that if a person puts up a video link, with no reason given, they could as well post it on the notice board in their town hall.

I prefer text to video, but will watch if a compelling reason is presented. Otherwise I skip them. Length doesn't matter much to me unless the video is very long.

A lot of it comes down to whether I personally find it interesting or not. Although 90% of the time, I don't watch the videos/only watch the first 30 seconds.
