YUINES UPDATE 1 October 5th 2008 June 1st 2009
North America
~ In an unprecedented close race, Barrack Obama and Joe Biden have emerged victorious in the recent U.S. general election. The inauguration on January 20th was a resounding success, with a remarkable inauguration speech by President Obama.
~ After a long decline, the U.S. economy has begun a slow rebound, though whether this is due to the presidential policies, or the natural rise and fall nature is not known.
~ Canada has announced the development of a new Arctic Fleet perhaps to assure its supremacy in the oil-rich regions of the far north.
~ The Conservative Party has emerged victorious in the Canadian elections.
South America
~ Several exciting events have begun in Argentina this year, starting with a booming agricultural sector. Also, Argentina has finally acknowledged British control over the apparently coveted archipelago of the Malvinas Islands, claiming that the Malvinas are free to unite with Argentina at any time, despite any past differences.
Europe
~ In Norway, oil production has greatly accelerated due to a large spike in funding due to a military funds surplus. Norway is beginning to devote its growing funds to aid the fledgling state of Kosovo, beginning to forge an alliance there.
~ In another Scandinavian state, Finland, it is beginning to join the growing group of welfare states, devoting a great deal more money to the care of its citizens.
~ The United Kingdom has begun a massive new infrastructure build up program, much to the glee of its citizens. Many in the US are now demanding similar projects.
~ A new wave of governments have begun developing plans for rolling out 5th generation aircraft, not the least of whom the French and the Italians, who devoted a fair amount of money in their military sector towards the development of these new, more advanced aircraft.

~ South Africa has begun a massive education program, seeking to make itself one the greatest nations in all Africa.

Also in South Korea, there is increasing frustration over the governments near total inability to slow their continuing economic slide, and their continued refusal to provide extra welfare towards businesses to warm up the markets again.
~ Upon suggestion of allowing U.S. forces to operate in Pakistan, the Pakistani government gawked and strictly said no. Despite NATO attempts to inform them of the operations and the campaign, the Pakistani has taken up a position of no talk unless you stop.
~ Major success has been met in Afghanistan and Pakistan, while U.S. and allied forces have begun a major withdrawal from Iraq. The Pakistani government has made several indignant protests over rumors of U.S. deployment into Pakistan, even though all rumors of captures and incursions into Pakistan are as of yet unsubstantiated.
~ Upon proposal of a Muslim World fund, requiring all member states to issue 25% percent of their income to the fund, several Arabian states gaffed at the Saudi Arabian proposal.
~ Efforts to establish a new caliphate in Tehran have met with disaster. Much of Iran is in total disarray, as most citizens flat-out refuse to accept the dominance of a new caliph. No frontlines in this revolt are clearly defined, yet the opposition is already flagging in strength, and seems willing to give up once the Iranian government finally admits the foolishness of their actions. The majority of the Iranian Army has stayed with the regime, yet a small number has migrated

Oceania
~ Due to a diplomatic gaffe involving East Timor committed by the Australian president, Indonesia temporarily removed its ambassador to Australia
~ Mass riots in Indonesia as welfare spending was suddenly cut off from a vast majority of the population due to massive military build up programs. Even a recent influx of aid from Australia, leftover from promised Tsunami aid, has been unable to prop up their ailing welfare system.
~ Recent military build-up and modernization in Australia has not gone unnoticed by her neighbors
