YuiNES 2- The Modern World

OOC: I would think Europe qualifies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Space_Agency

And I really don't see why China beats out Europe in military tech. Also, there's the question of Western Europe being relatively energy-independent. And France being around 80% nuclear energy... you get what I'm saying.

France is nowhere near 80% nuclear energy. Also if you wish to cooperate with the other European nations on launching a sattelite, of course it will be much easier, yet indepedently you still lack the capability to do so.
DEADLINE IN 16 HOURS

OOC: I am going to try and move this character as high as I can within realism within Iran- he's basically going to represent the sort of views I am trying to make the country hold.

Abdul-Azim
Abdul-Azim was a candiate running to be a Majili of Iran- basically like an M.P in the West. A charismatic and good-looking politican, he had a reputation for piety that was only partly justified. But he was inexperienced, and was nowhere near certani to even get a seat for now.

He was a half-white man from Britain (though with an Iranian mother), who had changed his name and migrated in search of what he called a true Islamic country. He emphasised greatly his Muslimness, and compared to the typical Majili was a radical.

In fact, he was a very radical Muslim by Iranian standards- an advocate of a new Caliphate to be frged by war, though fully willing to ally with and even grant (at least for the moment) legitimacy to Muslim states as pragmatic demands dictated.

While this compensated to a significant extent for his British background, it by no means guarenteed him sucess. As a foriegner, he had a hard road to climb...

Lmao... Kal you've obviously missed something big coming the UK's way ;)
From: DPRK
To: Six Party Talk Members
CC: World

The DPRK is willing to continue its engagement with less reservation in the six party talks. It also wishes to inform the world that the DPRK is not looking at beginning its nuclear project again, provided that the United States undertakes not to interfere in sovereign matters of the DPRK and wishes to be assured that no action will be taken against it should the DPRK uphold its end of the bargain.

The Great Leader believes this will be acceptable to all parties involved, and that a refusal of these reasonable terms (fair and just negotiations will be allowed) would constitute a blatant act of American aggression and a statement of intent with regards to the DPRK.

Signed.

Great Leader aetc Kim Jong Il.

OOC: Who is actively playing China?

Bananalee fellow Communist Brother! :p

ooc I doubt there will be any difficulties, seeing as India remains in the Commonwealth of Nations while it is a Republic. It is a voluntary organization and does not require for the members to accept the head (Queen Elizabeth II) as head of their state. And yes a made a mistake, Queen Elizabeth II is currently Queen of Barbados, however breaking those ties with the Queen won't have any adverse effects on Barbados, it has been in consideration by the government for quite some time (i was there when Owen Aurther gave the freakin speech about it) And yes i know Owen Aurther is no longer Prime Minister. I don't really see the problem actually

sorry seem to have missed this.

Anyway; what I will say is that a generally stable state does not tend to quickly go about changing their current form of their government, especially if they are comfortable with what they have. The fact that its been in discussion for so long only seems to suggest thats its never had the required support to push it through, and barring any great constitutional crisis, they'll leave it alone. But your free to go ahead and deal with the consequences.

Uh,sorry leaving as Pakistan. Don't have time.

Orders pending diplomacy answered (China).

Uh,sorry leaving as Pakistan. Don't have time.

Before 1 turn is out? whatever, Pakistan is OPEN

I AM STILL MISSING SEVERAL MAJOR ORDERS!

Orders on their way, might be just a little late, but definitely not much. hopefully not at all, depends.

I can't reach the computer I have my notes on. Seeing as I'm Mexico, the slight delay until tomorrow morning won't matter much.

Mexico, people.

I'm still missing several important diplo, aka Yui!!
I as well, though not from Yui. I suppose Anglo-German bilateral EU action works okay, though it'd really be nice to know what France thinks about much of what we're doing. Also Italy and Spain. It's really not conducive to a pan-European ideal for the UK and Germany to determine EU policy like this. :p
