I have spent some time on this one with my brother(an expert cartographer when it comes to Nintindo games:rolleyes: ). We spent about an hour getting this right. I like making maps but I can't stand changing the rules. So, if anyone would care to modify the rules in this to fit Zelda I would really appreciate it as long as you give me credit. Meanwhile enjoy my map and give me suggestions for ways to improve it.

Once someone has played the entire game on the map, please post here what i could do to make it better.

Not that anyone asked but here is a readme for the map:

Okay I got issues at the start to see where was everything but after I've read the readme, it was clearer.
It's the map from both N64 Zeldas.

Just a question: where is the hylia lake? it's a lake! not a gulf ! so it shouldn't be connect to the sea.

The river in Zelda 4 starts on the south of the death mountain, somewhere where people look like fish, I don't remember their name, than it cross the city of Hyrule, and then it will continue in the canyon... I guess it's the gerudo valley... after, it goes directly into the hyrule lake.

You should put Cocolint island from the first Zelda on the game boy... oh wait... he has dreamed that island... so it doesn't exist actually...

You should make the desert bigger, I think I remember hyrule was surrounded by lands... so you can be imaginative about what is after Hyrule... Well anyway, it's a very funny idea, I like it.
:)

It is a gulf mainly because that way you can get more interesting gameplay situations. For example, I just finished a domination game on this map. The gulf was very important because i used to to blockade all ports at once. Also, there is a exit from the lake shown on the map. Mine is just a tiny bit bigger.

I would put the one island in this except that i have no accurate maps of it. I never ever completed the Game Boy Zelda. I am going to make a new version of this map with the added lands as well as the map from the Super Nintendo Zelda. I figure I should be done with it by the end of the weekend. I will post it here along with a modified readme.

Thanks for the advice. I had a lot of trouble try to make the rivers since i didnt know the ingame source. The water around the fish people(who are known as the Zora) represents the rivers in that general area. In the next version the desert will be extended and i will try to think of some additional lands for Hyrule.

Just to tell everyone who reads this, I put the names of places in the readme so if you make a story on this map for Apolyton or this site you don't have to make up random names. I made this map orginally to make my own story of Civ3.

Here is the newest version of Zelda with a modified readme. Changes include: additional land onto Desert Colossus, the Lost Woods, and the Death Mountain Range, two new Wonders, and renamed civs for game accuracy. Constructive Criticism is still wanted.

Great Idea! :goodjob:

But could you do a bix version please?
