Zorn1: The great fall

Yep, in IA we will ba able to create a nice little aligator farm there.
I think our golden age will be triggered by the oracle, if we get it. If not, then Leo will do it.

Preturn: not much. Don't know why Kursk was founded. No river, no bonus, with better spots on the river SE, and a desert to the NW that we should have settled on the edge of to use the most tiles. We also seem to have heaps of barracks, plus more being built, even though we won't be building more than a couple of units for quite a while. We have lots of cities badly in need of cultural expansion, but they've got barracks instead of academies, shrines or monuments. I also MMed Moscow to finish Oracle in 3 turns instead of 4.

70AD: Research Heraldry-->Scholasticism, so that we can reach navigation with oracle
Germany completes Oracle.
Calixtiahuaca flips to us, and has Silks. Moscow will switch to silk road next turn when they're connected.

90AD: Massive trading round. 4 techs to the celts gets us Lateen sail, 1614 gold, 32gpt.
Lateen sail & mil training to ottomans, vikings & india gets us barding, 624 gold & 7 gpt
Barding and feudalism to celts gets us tobacco, republic & 34gpt, (all they have)

IBT: Celts extort silks, they can have them as they're giving us 66gpt + a lux

110: research scholasticism-->astronomy
Kazan founded

130: Vologda founded

150: celts build sun tzu's

170: Research Astronomy, complete silk road, SGL rush Leo's
Set research to castle building, due in 1

190: Research castle building, build Leo's, take Navigation & Map making as freebies.
Start GA
Trade world map to civs that can afford it, we get slightly over 1000 gold & 6gpt
2 techs to celts gets us fundamentalism

210: Research Siege War
Murmansk founded
Ottomans researched dark ages, so we can finally trade with them again. 6 techs total gets us 3039 gold, 79 gpt (all they can afford)

230: Research drama
Rome completes Pyramids
Drama to India gets 300 gold

250: Research Literature

Then again...

What the heck is with all the arenas? I start on lots of shield boosters
Whoever played last should really give more attention to their builds.
Why arn't those elephants building roads? espically with those gems we need to connect.
I thought we decided to move the crocidile town to the coast? start on a pioneer in Kazan, Vologda has to much stuff to move it yet.
Switch Novy Kiev to the FP due in [4]

Get all the worlds money; Build Solid Gold Bathtub

8 techs in 10 turns - :)

We have only 6-8 turns left in the MA!

Preturn:

As Disenfrancised said, we are very close to the industrial age. There is a good chance that our free tech is nationalism. We have to prepare for the AW-phase, quick.
With that in mind I changed every build that`s not shield-enhancing to military.

During my turns:

I upgraded our military (what little we had...), and all our workers.
Smith`s was rushed, and I noticed we had actually two SGLs in Moskow. I didn`t even know you can have two at the same time?
Anyway, the second one is still there, because there is little rushworthy. The next wonder we definitely want is the arc de triumphe, so maybe we should just store him.
I build a lot of units, mostly defenders and cannons. Once we discovered cavalry tactics I added some cossacks.
I deliberately slowed down the research time to give us a few more turns to prepare. At the moment we need 4 turns to complete flintlock, and probably another 4 for jurisprudence. Of course, if our military still seems lacking, we can allways research some optional techs or shut down research completley.
Last remark: I opened the blockade, that kept china and kelts out of our lands. When the hostilities begin, there is a lot of "free labour" to grab. Just keep an eye on our undefended cities, some of the escorts are GS.

Oh, and one more thing: Remember to revolt shortly before jurisprudence finnishes. Democracy and AW don`t mix very well...

Arenas?? There's 0 point to them. Same for idle 'phants when there's roads to be built.

I thought we decided to move the crocidile town to the coast? start on a pioneer in Kazan, Vologda has to much stuff to move it yet.

I think that was me. From memory, the coastal squares are all marsh, which we can't found cities on. Hence the non-coastal placement.

You can always get another SGL, and have multiples. If you have either an SGL or an MGL, you can't get another MGL. I'm assuming CVH forgot to say he got an SGL on his set?

We can cope with democracy for a little while. Our GA still has a few turns left, anarchic GA is a ridiculous waste. We don't need to hold off the revolt after that though, as the govt we'll finish the game in (Absolute Monarchy) is already available. I'd revolt for Abs Mon as soon as our GA ends. We need to get the new FP built too.

marsh, which we can't found cities on.

Cities can be founded on march. You just need a hardy settler, or have the tile roaded.
As for our golden age, it ended during my turns.

In that case, we should revolt immediately. And I've been playing too much normal civ, not enough RaR. Could've sworn it was tundra, desert and marsh that can't be founded on.
