The Lunatic, the Genius
Roger Tallon stood deep in his cavernous research facility, in his base high in the Rocky Mountains. Around him, silvery coils crackled with electricity, and behind him, in a cavernous chamber a vast metallic complex, belching smoke. Within the mechanical maze, a core, lit bright orange by the sparking lights around it, buzzed to life.
The man wore a stained white lab coat, his spiky, burned hair held back by a pair of goggles. His black rubber-gloved hands held a strange, typewriter-like device attached to a long, black tube, leading into the mass of machinery.
The machines massive support structures were now fully powered. Locks released on the core, and it began to turn, slowly accelerating and crescendoing to a blinding speed and deafening tone.
Doctor Tallon walked towards the wall and checked the gauges. The system had reached its minimal operational speed, and the power levels had stabilized. He placed the control console onto a table facing directly towards the orange core, and typed a message into the device.
Repeat After Me: Hello
A new high pitched whining began. Several blocks in the apparatus shot around, switches throughout it clicking into place. The Doctor looked to the output writer. After a few seconds, the typerwriter mechanisms began to fire.
Hello.
Tallon laughed.
Its first word! It has spoken!
Cheers and applause from the staff around the facility were drowned out by the massive drone of the machinery. Doctor Tallon prepared to type in a new message.
What Have You Said?
The machinery repeated its actions, faster this time.
I have said Hello.
Tallon laughed again, ecstatic at even this small success. He eagerly began to type another message.
I am Doctor Robert Forsythe Tallon, and I am your Chief Constructor. Who are you?

The Doctor paused for a moment, wondering what had caused the error. In an instant, it hit him.

NO UPDATE TODAY/NIGHT, I'm afraid I don't have time, and also missing orders from Charles Li, Supermath and Kraznaya. Update will be in roughly 24 hours time, even if I don't get those orders!
RULES CHANGE AGAIN ALSO MORE: There will no longer be multiple overlapping save values. Battleships will have 2 hit points, meaning they have to be killed twice before they are actually killed. EDIT: Also, fighters don't negate evasion anymore, and bombers aren't so great against ships now.
@Lucky, your story seemed to be missing from my screen the other day, I only just had a chance to appreciate it
@Gelion, sorry I forgot to say, you can of course rejoin as La Plata / Argentina. What nation name, flag and soldier style would you like?
I'm thinking that bombers, instead of bombing, could drop normal stormtroopers as paratroopers, although with some risk of death and injury involved even before combat begins.

BTW, I'm not against all crazyness with cats and squirrels, so long as you know I'm still treating these wars as human vs human. The non-humans must lurk behind the scenes, else be destroyed by the HighlandCow-SpaceHamster alliance which is overseeing this experiment from bases on the moon.
