Well, I guess I had very little to no chance at this thing. Hope Bil makes it further. At least I posponed Afrikaan dominance for as long as 2 turns. Nice move at Sahara too!

OOC: I would certainly rejoin. It would be great to have more provinces as well to allow for more players, strategy, Peoples Republic victories etc.

Currently our goals are to secure the worlds fisheries and diary lands. Within the hour the Seaboard will fall to a humongous awesomely planned badass assault and all the fishery workers will be under the command of Baron von Whiskers. Onto more pressing matters that the world can no longer ignore! In the sea region of Tonga-Fiji there lies the mythological beast known as the Kraken! This massive fishy evil will be defeated and claimed by the Iron Fascists immediately!

RULEZ AMMENDMENTS again more:
Carrier and transport 'Defensive Fire':
These units can't attack, and can't damage their attacker (except air), though they still roll to block incoming attacks. Like all surface units they still have a chance to score a hit on any attacking aircraft by rolling a 6.
Battleships:
These will now have an extra save, 'Toughness: 2'. They do not get extra saving throw, but if they roll 2 or less, they will use toughness instead of armour. Unlike armour, toughness will not negated (cancelled) by anything.

Thats beautiful, lord_joakim. Although its meaning escapes me. But I guess that is the beauty of it.
The problem with more provinces is that things could get really crowded. The map is already 2x the original size, and its causing some headaches for my poor old paint program. 4x would be too much I think. But I suppose you could take the names and moneys off the map for one thing.
These Civ2 graphics are by someone called Fairline over at Apolyton, who has done a whole lot of stuff for different eras. I was thinking these icons/sprites would be great for a more realistic version of this game. Although the infantry icons would be bigger on the map, the planes and ships would be much smaller, which could help if there were to be more provinces/zones.

I'm not going to change this game. I was just sharing an idea for a different kind of game, at some point in future.
I like the comical sprites too A bonus is that its much easier to cut and paste details like different heads etc. Without it all looking too messy. IMO.
EDIT: @Matt0088, I have a ton of different ideas, I think I'm being very good at resisting over-expansion this time I might put some advanced units in later, if the game gets that far. It is of course limited by the amount of advance wars style graphics out there. What would be great is a load of 1950's-1960's era units to fill the gap before getting onto the modern-looking Orange Star stuff
