Again, the Outlanders are not being 'cut loose' in any sense. And we further state that this decision is an Elite choice, not our choice.

The Outlanders are free to organize themselves, and do not pay taxes to the city. They do not have the same responsibilities as the city of Nesse. If the Outlanders do wish to become part of the Senate, we propose that they offer some sort of compromise to the Senators, perhaps involving military contributions.

We also provide almost the entirety of your armed forces. So without us you have no army and possibly no food and as you are not sovereign over us you cannot force us to do anything. Stop bending over backwards for those city-dwellers. You are a disgrace to Outlanders. Do you really want to give up your sovereignty, your freedom, to some fat-cat bureaucrats? The Outlander Trade Federation is vastly superior! We will be able to organize ourselves according to our own desires, and be masters of our destiny, while retaining our ties to Nesse. The Elites (those of honor, of course, not those shiftless Elites who can only sit and talk) know of our contributions and our relationship will be mutually beneficial so long as we do not blur the line already set in stone by the City Walls.
