2006 CFC 7-Round NFL Mock Draft (Starts 2/4)

wow, surprises all along. And i thought the Packers were going to snag Lendale White? hmm
Dude, the Packers already have like every running back on the face of the earth. And all of them got injured this year :p

LenDale White isn't worth the #5 (at least, he's not worth it yet -- we'll see after the combine). Packers actually have a wealth of RBs (that's what happens when you end up with SEVEN on the IR last season) ... and while they would've taken Bush if he had fallen, defense is their main need (unless Brick had fallen, of course).

I could've gone with either Williams or Hawk with this pick. I think, though, that with Nick Barnett the Packers needed to focus more on the D-Line. Kampman is likely gone and KGB, while an excellent pash rusher, needs someone on the other side of the line to help free him up. Williams is the kind of player that can stuff the outside run as well as torment the QB. The Pack are more than happy to take him here.

EDIT: However, remember that both Davenport and Green are UFAs this season. Green is definitely on the down-side of his career, and Davenport has never shown himself to be more than a situational runner. When April comes around, the Pack may be drafting LenDale White here. But I doubt it.

Commissioner Paul Tagliabue walks to the podium

" I have a draft day trade announcement,
The Detriot Lions send Charles Rogers, WR to the Tennessee Titans for Billy Volek, QB "

Chris Berman " Interesting trade Mel, how do you see it "

Mel Kipper,Jr. " Well Chris, it gives rookie Vince Young another target in Tennesse and shows the Lions are not sold on Joey Harrington as their QB of the future."

OK if you guys don't mind my fiancee' would like to pick for the San Diego Chargers. It's her team and I'll help her.

Okay, I'm up.
The Detriot Lions send Charles Rogers, WR to the Tennessee Titans for Billy Volek, QB "
Real trade? Any draft picks being exchanged.

"With the Seventh Pick in the NFL 2006 Draft, The San Franccisco 49ers select...
Texas Cornerback Michael Huff"

Chris Berman-"San Francisco picked this talented defensive back for his corner skills and his potential to be one of the NFL elite."

I edited the first one, didn't think you were going too change from your list.

That puts the bills up, and nobody has them yet, yeah? I say they trade with the Broncos, they need help everywhere and can use the extra picks. :p and it gives more time to find a taker for them. Failing that, I can see them taking Justice at OT, or Ngata.

What are you offering the Bills exactly? 2 Firsts and a third?

22 & 29 for 8. Real trade would more likely get complicated with players and picks, but no point doing that here. Extra 1st round pick to drop 14 spots sounds fair enough to me, especially as the Bills need help everywhere.

Since that is about even according to the Draft Pick value chart, I'll allow the trade.

Well in that case, Ngata looks much better than recycled Cleveland players did during the playoffs, so Ngata it is.

Haloti Ngata, Defensive Tackle, University of Oregon

Nah, they just need a good one. Their D-line's been decent this year, but I watched them lose to the steelers, and Warren, Brown, etc played like they were back in Cleveland.

Brown actually didn't play that bad when he was in cleveland. It's just that averaged like 6 games a year.
