2006 CFC 7-Round NFL Mock Draft (Starts 2/4)

Well, since no one has voted, I guess that means no one is online. Understandable for a Saturday night. I'd probably be going out if I didn't have this darn cold and it wasn't so darn cold! So I guess we'll break till the morning. El Justo, Feel free to post your pick if you check the board overnight.

Nice picks all around, smart too. Probably unrealistically smart ;)

Cutler over Leinart though? I can understand Young since he is a major risk as much as I love him (favorite player of all time!), but Leinart has been in so many bigger games against better defenses and stepped up his game...Cutler hasnt proven that, his biggest game was against a Tennessee team with a losing record.

Is that really his picture though?

Alright, we are kicking this off again. The 14th pick is now due at 11am today.

Per El Justo's list in the NFL draft thread:

Honestly, it doesn't really matter which they end up posting in. I'll check both and repost it in here if needed.

With the 15th pick in the 2006 CFC draft the Atlanta Falcons select:

Derek Hagan - WR - Arizona St.

I honestly must say, I'm quite surprised by the Falcons taking Hagan (especially after that horrid performance at the senior bowl). Wait, I figured it out, Matt Millen has hijacked the Falcons front office and drafted his first round wide reciever!!!

(just to note, it is the 3rd year in a row that the Falcons went WR in the 1st)

Well, unfortunately the deadline has come and gone for Dreadnaught (Miami GM) so I'll have to pick for him...

With the 16th pick in the CFC mock draft the Miami Dolphins select:

James Williams Jr. - Cornerback - Virginia Tech

With the 17th pick of the first round Minnesota Vikings select Deanglo Williams RB from Memphis.

Reason
Last year they beefed up the defence and it played 100% better, they got a decent QB, @4 good WR's, The return of allpro Birk helps the o-line. BUT the RB situation is that Bennett gets hurt every other game and Smith gets high every game.

With the 18th pick of the draft (1st round) the Dallas Cowboys select Bobby Carpenter- Outside Linebacker - Ohio State

Reason: Now, we have someone to play the opposite side of Ware.

Edit: Sue me for picking fast, but he was the guy I targeted. :p

With the 19th pick in the 2006 CFC draft, the Cleveland Browns select:

Chad Greenway - Outside Linebacker - University of Iowa

Romeo Crennel: "We feel we got the second best linebacker in this draft. We had him rated just slightly below A.J. Hawk and are thrilled to pick him up even after trading down. We are confident he'll be an instant impact player on our defense with his speed, tackling ability and nose for the football."

Break Time for the Super Bowl. If your pick comes up, feel free to post it.

With the 20th pick in the 2006 CFC draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select:

Tamba Hali - Defensive End - Penn State

Stuart Scott: Well coach, were you looking to improve a defense that finished 25th in the league in total defense?

Herman Edwards: Yes, our defense improved last year, but not enough to get us into the playoffs. Tamba Hali is a great all-around defensive end, who can get upfield and offer an alternative threat for offenses, instead of them looking only for Jared Allen coming off the corner.

Not sold on Mathias Kiwanuka's health?

EDIT: OMG 5,000!!!! *does a little dance*

Kiwi got manhandled at the senior bowl. Anyways, why are you dancing, don't the Texans run the 3-4? He's WAY too small to be an end in that system.

Azale had his 5000th post. Congrats Azale.

I know Im a few picks away, but im not sure where im going to be today, so here are my top 3

Orien Harris, DT, Maimi
Claude Wroten, DT, LSU
Gabe Watson, DT Michigan

Pretty obvious where the trouble spot is for the Bengals i guess

Since the Patriots are well over the time limit, and the next two picks are empty, I would suggest they go:

Patriots: Thomas Howard - OLB, UTEP. Patriots main need is linebacker, as most of their LBs are 30+.

Bills: Winston Justice - OT, USC. Need both OT & DT, Ot here, DT in a few picks time.

Bucs: Marcus McNeil - OT, Auburn. Also in need of tackle help. 6'9", 330 looks good, Kenyatta Walker looks crap, and as an added bonus this is one of the guys who blocked for Cadillac Williams in college.

Bengals: Orien Harris - DT, Miami. As per MattBrown's post.

Which would put the Giants on the clock.

And the current order for my pick if it comes up before I'm back online, very much subject to change when I think about it more:

Kiwanuka - DE
Chad Jackson - WR
Sinorice Moss - WR
Cromartie - CB
Maroney - RB
Youboty - CB
Carpenter - OLB
Simpson - S
Bing - S
Hill - CB
