2007 March Madness Pick 'Em Pool

Nope. Like I said, no one will ever guess who I picked to win it, I really mean that. And I didn't pick some low seed to win it either.

Don't you mean...75-48? Nice little 27 point cushion over OSU, just like in football :mischief:

No...
I actually think Ohio State's quite a good team. But I simply can't understand they don't go to Oden more often on offense. They run very few plays for him. About half his points are just second chance points on Conley misses. Nice strategy and all that, but why not run more plays inside, so that Conley and Lewis get more space outside?

You didn't pick Texas or Florida did you? :p

Well, the major reason for this is Oden's injury at the beginning of the season. When he was out, the Buckeyes had very little inside presence and were forced to rely on the 3 (like last year) to get by. Then when Oden came back, he wasn't 100% and was actually shooting with his left hand (he's right handed). Now, as the season has progressed and Oden has become healthier, they've also gradually been going more and more inside to him.

@ Azale: Nope, my choice is really a surprise one (kinda like Florida winning it last year). You'll be able to see on Thursday.

OSU over Florida. A little consolation, but football is still king in Columbus.

I'm in, but this is probably the least I've cared about the NCAA tournament in some time. Didn't the selection committee learn anything from last year? Where are the mid-majors? HTF did Arkansas get in?

Yes, they did. The fewer the mid-majors, the less upsets, the more money to be divided among the power conferences.

And a better question than the Arkansas one is how in the world did Akron, with 26 wins, get snubbed not just by the NCAA tourney, but also the NIT! Talk about a travesty.

I was thinking that too.

I think the committee is just plain stupid and biased. Syracuse is a pretty big power school last I checked, but they had no Big East rep there. Arkansas is pretty mediocre, and I LIKE the SEC. Thier signature wins are over Vandy. Vandy is good...but hell, FSU beat UNC, Duke, AND Florida and didn't get in over freakin Arkansas. Arkansas just got lucky with thier pairings in the SEC tournament (Vandy, Miss. St.).

And then the committee head has the gall to say that Boeheim is torturing statistics...10-6 in the Big East is not torturing. Oh, and if it's thier road record that is so bad...why did Georgia Tech get in? Didn't they win only like, 1 road game all year?

I know they had three good wins...was it VaTech? Either way, thier more deserving than GT or Arkansas :p

Did they not also have a sub .500, or .500 leage record?

Drexel and the 'Cuse got screwed, thats for sure. Heck, the whole big East got hoses. Notre Dame as a 6? Playing Winthrop? Ouch!

They had a sub-.500 record playing in arguably the weakest division of a power conference.

Stanford!! You took Stanford over The Ville when the game was being played in Lexington! Bwahahahahahahahahahhaha!!!! Man, that just stupid. Heck, Kraz, you're on the west coast, you shoulda known how bad the Tree was.

Good riddance to Dook, the most hated basketball team in america.
