More Unique Components for Vox Populi

3rd and 4th Unique Components for VP - Official thread 88.10

Correct if I am wrong, but I believe ships inside a city receive a massive MALUS to combat, not a bonus, representing them being immobile while at dock.

The constant CS nerfs to field gun/cannon have missed the G Bombard. I will reduce their RCS to 40 (+1 from field gun).
Besides that, they both have the malus vs ships; there is no material difference in how damage should be calculated between a field gun and a G Bombard, so I'm not sure what is happening. Sorry

I think that's due to the fact that garrisoned units simply share a part of the city damage. Could this be the case where the G. Bombard dealt like 300+ damage to the city?

G bombards deal extreme damage to cities, so if the unit was garrisoned in a city that's probably it. G Bombards have a special siege II promotion which gives +200% vs cities, instead of the standard +100%

If the unit is in a city that's the issue. G Bombards more or less two shot cities; they have Volley, ultra-Siege, and then a couple of extra promotions on top. That sounds pretty close to what I was experiencing playing the Ottomans a while back.

Yep, for example, the city has 100HP and the bombard has dealt 300 damage, the unit inside the city takes 200 damage which is kinda insane lol

does the version 50 update now play nice with the new 8-31 vox beta? It was crashing me last week

I have made no changes. The instability is an issue with the dll and new lua hooks introduced by the CPP. I have no control over those.

Code optimization/adjustment in the CPP has made this modmod currently inoperable. You’ll have to wait for a new base VP version and see if the issues are resolved

Can confirm what @ridjack and @Edaka said (on v50 and the 9/9 beta) -- adding a Qullqa manually to an Incan city via IGE works fine, but letting the city finish it organically leads to a CTD

I didn't get a chance to test Rome or Songhai yet. Will see if I can spin up a game in a bit and give Rome some incentive to build Latifundia. Rome I get with the Lat providing Olives, but I must be missing why Songhai would be an issue-- since from what I can tell, their 3/4UC stuff gives bonuses for specific resources, but doesn't give resources themselves. Is it the bonus targeting AND creation of specific resources in 3/4UC that's not playing nice with base VP?

One of the possibly several issues introduced into the lua is the comment to setImprovement(). Rome’s latifundium sets a plantation improvement on an adjacent tile, both the qullqa and the gumey set improvements beneath the city tile in order to provide their bonuses

Gotcha, thanks dan. I personally have never played Songhai so I was struggling to understand what put them in the same boat as Rome and the Inca. Hopefully we can get this run up the flag pole to G in time for the next stable release as 3/4UC has become indispensable to a decent number of us and how we play VP
