Greg, I thought you guys would do Zulu for sure.. what happaned? why some meaniless random euro country??

Could have been worse. We could have had the Zulu  This is the 21st century, Zulu at most deserve to be a 3rd expansion civ or DLC civ :p

Woah, I agree there's too many European civs. But meaningless and random? You must be trolling.

If the people on here were as stupid as the people on Facebook who are commenting on Civ's pictures, I would never come back here. Holy hell the people there are morons. After the last pic some people are still guessing the Zulu and they keep guessing civs that are already in the game or have already been confirmed. It's unbelievable how stupid they are.

People on Youtube is WAY worse. Look at this:

"to bad they only have denmark as scandinavian civilization, feels like they are only focusing on south america and asia civilizations!"
Snippidippi at "Civilization V: Gods and Kings PAX Demo - Part 2". It's in the oldest page.

Now if the 9th is Sweden, at least this guy will be a very happy person.

I don't mind Sweden, but I agree it's kind of weird to have 2 scandinavian civs.

If it has to be a European civ, I would accept Sweden. THE KING IN THE NORTH! THE KING IN THE NORTH! :snowlaugh: :snowlaugh: :snowlaugh:

I really don't care what civs are included, as long as we see some good (unique) gameplay. 2kGreg, can you point out the most appealing (unique) aspect of the 9th civ? That is more important.

I'm getting sick of all the too-many-Euro-Civs whingeing. Discussions on this forum and elsewhere have established that there are plenty of good candidates for Civs from other parts of the world - enough for another expansion. All that this suggests to me is that they have built this expansion around the scenarios they've introduced. The Zulus or Indonesians wouldn't really have fit with what we know of the scenarios, so while I can't deny being somewhat disappointed at the final Civ being European, I'm not really surprised.

Would I have liked to have seen Indonesia/Majapahit, the Zulus, the Inuit, etc? Sure. Do I doubt they will be added in the future? Not really...

"Everybody expects the foolish and predictable producers!"
Sweden?!
You have to be kidding!
Well,"2K Greg"!
I want to say you something!
Today you lost one of your loyal fans and clients of Civilization V!
I will never buy this preposterous, laughable and nonsensical "expansion"!

Well they can give them whatever characteristic they want, but it wouldn't be fitting of them. To get them something that would fit them would make them just another bland European civ that peaks during the Renaissance Era and isn't that much different than the other ones. That really doesn't add much diversity to the game. The difference between many of these European civs is minimal. I like seeing my rival civilizations in the game look and play significantly different, I don't want them all blending together.

That's going to depend very much on how they work in gameplay terms. Culturally they're not especially interesting or distinctive, and justifying their inclusion on the basis of the Thirty Years War shows just how long-lasting the Swedish golden age was, but there's no more reason for them to play the same way as existing civs as there is for the Dutch to play like the Germans.

People do realise the reason there are so many euro civs is that
1. There's a renaissance scenario
2. The guy who designed this, designs Renaissance board games

Opposition to Sweden is because they're apart of Europe, not because they're European? Otherwise I don't really understand support for Brazil over Sweden.

It should be more important that they bring something unique to the game. It remains to be seen whether they will, of course. Hopefully a unique Cannon, tundra bonuses, or a diplomatic UA. It seems a little dramatic to damn the expansion just because there are "too many" European civs. All it really affects is a game map of the earth, and in that scenario, if there weren't more Europeans, how would you go about reenacting colonization? Whether a civ is Asian, African or European doesn't make it inherently better for the game.

Is Greg just laughing at our guesses somewhere? I think so. Lol

I have a feeling he's gonna surprise us soon.
