"Everybody expects the foolish and predictable producers!"
Sweden?!
You have to be kidding!
Well,"2K Greg"!
I want to say you something!
Today you lost one of your loyal fans and clients of Civilization V!
I will never buy this preposterous, laughable and nonsensical "expansion"!

I think you might be overreacting a bit.

Are you making fun of somebody else or do you actually mean that?

Y'know, I've got this nagging feeling we're wrong and 2K Greg is just laughing his head off behind his computer.

I guess we can begin speculating on their UA now. I don't really know, but I'll say they get some military bonus vs. civilizations of different faiths.

What about Swedish UU, He is known as the "father of modern warfare", first general to use mobile artillery on the battlefield. I'd like to see a cannon UU of some sort.

I really don't care what civs are included, as long as we see some good (unique) gameplay. 2kGreg, can you point out the most appealing (unique) aspect of the 9th civ? That is more important.

I'm getting sick of all the too-many-Euro-Civs whingeing. Discussions on this forum and elsewhere have established that there are plenty of good candidates for Civs from other parts of the world - enough for another expansion. All that this suggests to me is that they have built this expansion around the scenarios they've introduced. The Zulus or Indonesians wouldn't really have fit with what we know of the scenarios, so while I can't deny being somewhat disappointed at the final Civ being European, I'm not really surprised.

Would I have liked to have seen Indonesia/Majapahit, the Zulus, the Inuit, etc? Sure. Do I doubt they will be added in the future? Not really...

Thirded, yall're right. In the end, there's a flavor element and a gameplay element. It kind of depends on how you personally assign the weights, but ultimately for almost all players, once you get past the load screen, it's the gameplay element that's going to win that particular thumb war.

If nothing else, 2kGreg can go back to marketing and show how much demand there is for Indonesia, Zulu, Portugal, Gran Colombia, and Brazil...

That's half an expansion right there. Let's all start guessing other possibilities and make it a certainty!

Picture please?

And look on the bright side, they'll soon run out of European countries to add in DLC...

With the religious theme, it's possibly mildly surprising the final civ isn't Armenia.

Armenia! That's 6!

Another European civ? Better run that hot bath and get the knife... :crazyeye:

No! Please! Don't do it! There's so much to live for! I know life seems bad now, but life gets better! Just - please - I implore you! Don't jump! It's not worth it! ... Actually, better yet, do a flip.

In all seriousness, get over it, and yourself. Greg is hardly going change it to fit your expectations, and if you want to miss all the great features G&K will offer, go ahead. Nobody will try and stop you.

2K Greg has been eyeing this thread with interest. I wonder why?

I think Civ Fanatics is in a S&M relationship with Greg, i can just imagine him laughing evily with thunder shooting behind him as he laughs loudly with his fingers resting on .. other fingers with his cute beard...

... ahem.. sorry about that.

Hes about to make the announcement I am sure.

But yea, hopefully he will take away for some DLC ideas.

There are plenty of ideas plenty of people like:

Indonesia, Khazars (A Civ we were all hoping for their unique Jewish and Tengriism culture) and prior to the Huns we thought would be in due to the Expansion's theme, Chachapoya, Brazil, Gran Colombia, Tibet, Israel, Kongo, Morocco, Zimbabwe, Comanche/Sioux etc.

There are plenty of great civs still not in :D

People do realise the reason there are so many euro civs is that
1. There's a renaissance scenario
2. The guy who designed this, designs Renaissance board games

I reiterate these points.

People who are somehow offended at the inclusion of Sweden in this particular expansion need to realize that there are more civilizations planned for the future. The inclusion of a Sub-Saharan or Southeast Asia civilization would not fit at all into the current scenarios.

I'm anticipating that the Into the Renaissance scenario will have the most replayability of any of the current scenarios (including the others in the expac).

I honestly don't know who it's going to be. I'm quite excited though.

Greg, enlighten us please :)
