A Brave New World Part 2

I realize we're all busy this time of year, so this update will be purposely dragged out in its undertaking. At this point no more order revisions will be accepted, BUT if you have not sent in orders, I encourage you to send them in. I'll be doing limited production orders tonight, and setting up the outline, as well as stuff non-related to orders. Chances are if you have not sent in orders yet, you'll have until late tomorrow afternoon to do so.

On a side note, crezth has agreed to a real time war for Europe to take place upon AIM tomorrow at around 6 PM. Since the real time will ONLY apply to European fronts, I would prefer kentharu to be available for it. If he is not, then I will accept any EAN member on AIM at that time to lead the predominantly Russian forces.

May the best man win.

That makes me curious as to how that works. Hopefully at some point I can try that.

You're allowed to sit in on it y'know.

I remember our real time war. Went better than I was expecting, but it was still a hopeless situation...

6pm what timezone?

so 10am here the day after... I can be on for the EAN if no one else can, or along with everyone else.

Well, I'm discontinuing tonight's work on the update, but dont worry, still plenty of time to get in new orders. Also, a political cartoon is still required for this update.

sorry it appears now i may be unable to attend the real time war tomorrow morning (my time) i will try my best to be there but no promises, the woman has the day off so i may be... busy

Lastly, we are rapidly approachign the fiftieth update, an achievement I rarely reach. To commemorate the occasion, I'm considering giving out awards. Now, i've only thought of two major awards, which I want ya'll to vote on, and this is important, in your next orders. If you're a lurker, feel free to send me a private message regarding voting, and I'll allow our persistent lurkers to nominate for other awards as well. Speaking of which, if you have a special idea for an award, please feel free to nominate someone for such via private message. Put some thought into this, and you don't need to make decisions right away, as we've got a good long time before update 50.

I'm a lurker who doesn't generally read the NES's, but I stumbled on ABNW part 1 a long time ago and have read every post of both ABNW1 & 2 (generally sitting down about once every 2 weeks and catching up). Congratulations to you and all the contributers who have made a very entertaining alternate history.

I vote for me.

On that note, I'd like to propose an award for the most consistently entertaining display of bravado. (Nevermind if those pronouncements are made while hiding under the skirt of a faraway ally!)

I would have to second that, morality and all that aside, Georgia is my nomination for the most badass nation of the game.

Reluctantly agree.

Luckymoose for most likely to make a political theorist revisit their dissertation on "rational" state behavior. *scratching his head* "Where did I go so horribly wrong?"

Does every nation that has a player that sent orders always get at least one mention per update?

@bombshoo: Y'know, I tried to do that once. Figured, people wouldn't stay interested if they weren't constantly being talked about. Then I had that grand revelation that my entertainment is worth far more than trying to appease everyone. I do try to make mention of groundbreaking changes, political developments, and policy changes, but I won't and don't make a habit of making soemthing up for a nation just so that the player can get that nice warm feeling of making a difference.

Bestshot and I will be headed to Russian class at the time of this AIM battle. Will there be anyone transcribing the actions or copypasting to a word document or something? I would really like to read such a discourse.

I'd say the most bad-a** would be Crezth. France has systematically taken on most of Europe and the superpower Russia. Lucky has only recently expanded beyond his borders, at the expense of his ally.

Yes, Crezth has style- a moustache-twirling villain and propagandist, but Lucky's acting with sheer antiheroic badassery.
