A Brave New World Part 2

@germanicus: You're definitely right about the update being a shocker. But I don't believe it'll be as "shocking" that you may think. There's certainly quite a few nasty surprises for some people.

I am sure it will be... :mischief:

Nevermind I figured it out. Hopefully.

You can't send orders because of an issue with a stat that's more looks than anything else? Well, I'll certainly rush to change that.

I suggest you rethink your proposal to allow a slave-ridden, lesser "nation" who has yet to be recognized as legitimate by many of the world's more powerful Empires.

We find our encouragement now reinforced. The true threat to our bloc is the colonial empires. We must stand alongside Haiti in order to help curtail the expansion and tyranny of nations like Virginia.

From Chancellor Madson, Empire of Virginia

I suggest you rethink your proposal to allow a slave-ridden, lesser "nation" who has yet to be recognized as legitimate by many of the world's more powerful Empires.

Chancellor Madson,

We understand your concerns. However there is little need for major concern as we plan to support and help implement change in their fair island nation.

We hope that you trust us, as close friends, that we will be successful in implementing relevant change. As a free nation ourselves we will support gradual abolition of slavery.

We would be happy to talk in private as well.

President S.W.T. Lanham

EMPIRE POST - "the only news that spans the Empire"

EMPEROR SIGNS PACT WITH NEW ENGLAND, CANADA

Robert II has deemed it necessary to cement a pact of alliance with the peoples of New England and Canada, marking the first time Virginia has signed anything more than a bilateral agreement since the Trans-Atlantic Pact.

Richmond, Virginia In a move that has surprised many of his admirers, Robert II has signed into law a pact that ties the futures of New England, Canada, and Virginia together and reigns in a new era of North American power politics. When questioned on the subject, Chancellor Madson was quoted saying "this pact, named the "United Nation-States of America" for now, will be spine that holds together continent of North America, creating a sphere of stability in a ever-failing world." The pact, which was signed behind closed doors in the President's Mansion in Boston by the three leaders themselves, goes into affect immediately.

The Chancellor was available for further questioning the day after the pact was signed. When asked if this meant Virginian troops would be fighting in New English colonies overseas, he had this to say: "It was made very clear by the Emperor and myself that this pact would be for the stability and co-defense of North American interests only. The goal of this pact is not to provide a safety net for the New English empire abroad." This reporter, having only a few more minutes to question the Chancellor, asked what the future is for the alliance, and whether or not economics came into play during the discussion with the other rulers. "As it stands now, the alliance is purely for the military defense of North America against other Imperial powers, and for keeping the stability of the continent. Though others, particularly the Canadians, wish to work towards economic cooperation as well, I tell you that the Emperor and I are fully committed to the safety of Virginian industry from unfair competition abroad."

One last comment was heard regarding Virginia's other foreign commitments. "This Pact in no way signifies a change to Virginian treaties with Tennessee, the Netherlands, or Texas, and the Emperor would like to assure that Virginia still stands by her friends abroad. Though recent action by the Texan government to ally with the Haitian rebellion has caught the attention of his Majesty." And with that final comment, the Chancellor ducked into his Ford motorcar and was briskly swept down the street towards the Imperial Palace, a contingent of Royal Guard along his side.

Just noticed...you never added the 100 Infantry, 30 Cavalry, and 16 Artillery Brigades that I bought last turn. I should have a total of 691 Infantry, 59 Cavalry, and 97 Artillery Brigades. Can this be fixed please?
