The Prophet Speaks Dated during the early days of the war.
Ordinary citizens stand in awe in Bringhamton as the city gets bombarded, with troops that is. The entire Deseret army arrived from the north via train and prepared for their long march to Canada, the troops happy to be given a 2 day liberty pass, went every where, did everything, they ate their last good meals at local diners, went out with young girls to local hang outs, some were even lucky to go home. But all men and even the women knew what was coming, a war.... and not even that, a World War, that included the power of France and Russia against the likes of England, Germany, Italy and most of Europe. The news keeps pouring in, tens of thousands die in Canada, Mexico goes to war, Louisiana fights French invaders, Cuba rebels, the news just doesn't stop. Naturally the women are fearful but a kind word and speech from their leader was enough to quell the fear and give hope to the troops:
Mormons, today is a bleak day, for any day Deseret is forced to go to war to uphold the word of the Lord is a bleak day. The atrocity of Quebec must end, for I have received a vision just last night, the Lord Christ and his Heavenly Father have informed me that Lucifer or Satan has occupied and corrupted the nation of Quebec and that it was our duty as Soldiers of God to march forward and combat the forces of evil once again. The Lord has also mentioned the fall of an Empire and the freedom of an oppressed people, I saw Paris in flames and the American states celebrating their freedom. Among those I saw flags of Louisiana, Cuba, New France and New Jersey!
I know our troops are blessed with the word of God, and your prayers will no doubt keep our brave troops strong and free. The whole world stands against France but please do not think France is evil, no they are only keeping their word as they are obliged to stand by their allies. No matter how deranged they may be. No the true evil lies in Quebec and Quebec alone for they refused to take the high road and work towards peace, despite many nations asking them to, only an insane man would lead the world to war. And that is why God asked me to send his army to Quebec.
Even now our armies march through Mexico in luxury, Mexico was kind enough to allow us to use their rails so take heart in the knowledge that our troops will arrive fresh and ready to meet the devil in battle. Even now our diplomats work constantly to forge new alliances and keep up with shifting policies and new nations. Our offices are filled to the max with letters from leaders of the world asking for forgiveness for their crimes. Which was nothing more than standing by an ally in need. God will only judge them in death but know this I have told every leader personally that Deseret holds no grudge or problems with other nations for what they were doing is what is expected of them. I hope you also share my belief.
As I speak our friends in Canada hold out against impossible odds as the soldiers of Quebec are sent to their deaths from a satanist overlord. Please think of those poor troops and their families, especially those poor cavalrymen who so needlessly sacrificed their lives charging the machine gun positions. My heart goes out to those men and their families. Around the world armies march and counter march preparing to face their enemies on the field of battle, navies steam towards each other in the ultimate fight to the death. It may appear that God has abandoned us but it is not so, he is still with us and urging us to fight on and prevail against evil! He stands with our brave troops on their stand in Canada, he stands with every christian soldier that fights in the name of God and the Holy Ghost.
So Mormons, please pray for every poor soul out there marching to his salvation, pray for the troops in Canada, pray for the sailors, but above all pray for a speedy end to this conflict and the quick return of our brave troops. Our Soldiers of God!

Most elderly men and a few youngsters were placed in the Home Guard and dispatched to protect our borders while the Regulars marched to reinforce the main force in Canada. Women and children alike created care boxes for the troops fighting in Canada, the care boxes will be distributed among the Canadians and Native Americans fighting on the front lines. But most importantly every citizen, from government official to lowly private, from wealthy business owner to child all prayed for the soldiers.
