So all this time I have been depressed right? Well no longer.

A friend from work told me his story of how he dealt with depression and he said "stay positive" and "dont think negatively". I have heard that advice before but I tried it for just 30 minutes and tried smiling and it made me feel great.

Pretending to feel happy does make me feel happy. Better yet my best friend from work who I have been trying to date I heard from this other guy that she really does love me. I just have to change my personality and stay positive. My first friend the guy said he talked to her and he confirmed she does care for me and would date me if I was more happy and confident.

Just those two things the fact that maybe she would date me and she does love me does make me want to change my personality.

I will no longer think negatively I will think positively. It simple but it really works. If you are feeling depressed just stop thinking about negative things and think positive.

I never thought it would work but as I said after trying it for 30 minutes along with smiling I do feel happy. What a great day! :)

I'm happy for you :) Do whatever makes you happy.
People say that pretending to feel happy only puts off your problems for later, but it works for me. Its pretty for me to forget negative things about the past and focus on the present.

I think this is the first time in my life I know someone of the opposite sex besides someone in my family does love me. It is a great feeling. It is a motivator for me to do anything.

awesome dude. Just remember to stay positive when the excitement of the discovery wears off. It will feel a bit different than now but it will still work!

Hire a motivational cheerleader squad to follow you around and really give you that extra push to help you feel more motivated and therefore happy!

A positive attitude needs to be coupled with real material improvements in life. Convincing oneself to be happy just to avoid negative thoughts altogether can't last indefinitely. Don't fool yourself into thinking things are getting better, Xanikk -- you make things get better.

I thought this was going to be about a successful conclusion to your previous thread. :(

I kinda was too :(.

But good on ya maite! I wish you happiness! :goodjob:

Also...what Ama said!
