however, if it is proven that Strider is lying(i do not believe he is), then i would hope that his account and IP Address get frozen.

If this stuff about Strider's accident are fake, then I am absolutely Livid. Id like to know exactly what is going on.

Umm, is it not possible that a completely different friend of Strider's came online, knew about the DG, and posted that? That seems unlikely, but having read Boots's detective work, I think we just have something we don't understand, a misunderstanding.
Now, since Strider was unconcious, he couldn't have told his GF (Doe) to post in the DG, and tell her what to say, right? He was unconcious immediately after the accident, right? if he was conscious, then he could have told his GF about this, wrote it down, whatever, and she could have posted on here, although that seems unlikely. Does Strider have a close friend in the DG, someone who would know his password, and might log on as him to keep the game going?
When i first read about this, I assumed it to be true, I assumed that people would not be this sick and twisted to make jokes such as this, and I hope I am right. I still this likely occured, and there probably is a perfectly innocent explanation for this, hopefully. This does cast quite a dark shadow over everything. Also, how did his GF find out his password, if he was unconscious, he couldn't have told it to her. I guess she was with him while he was on this site, but would you normall tell your GF your password. Of course, then again, it could have been cookied, but then she would have to know the website address, although that could have been found fairly easily . . . , and I am starting to ramble, I really should crawl to bed, apparently . . .

One of my college classmates had a terrible accident a few weeks ago. Got hit by a 18-wheels when he and his advisor tried to merge into the highway. He was unconcious for a few days and even now he still couldn't fully recover his memory.
When I first read this, I thought "gosh, god bless all the suffering". Then I read more, and it sucks.
I am personally 99% sure this was a fake story. Forget the timestamp, the whole story isn't plausible. He was re-sent to emergency room which sounded really grim, and then suddenly he could get out of hospital in one (or a few) week(s)?!
The story was full of holes, yet good people still tend to embrace the lies. It is sick to abuse the trust and good will, especially on such a friendly forum.

Just to clarify things; I meant the Girlfriend of Strider's brother.
I don't know who to believe. I am not blindly accepting a statement of "he is lying" based on forum times. The times of my posts have sometimes been not correct.
And I do want to hear Strider's comment; a matter of "hoor en wederhoor"; a dutch legal term, sort of meaning he can't be condemned without at least giving him a chance to explain / defend.
If he is really badly injured I feel bad about thinking he is lying.
If he isn't injured I feel really bad people can do this to others.
Anyway I will feel bad.

I don't know what to believe, I wouldn't at all be surprised if it was all a lie, infact it seems to make sense. If it is then I'll be very angry, it's not right to play a joke like this and now in the future if anyone else is reported injured people will automatically doubt it.
But if this is all true then it would be pretty awful if you were Strider and came back to this.

The tendency of most people is to believe something like this when they hear it, and I was no exception. But really, when you add everything up, it doesn't make sense. Not only the timestamps but the entire story itself (getting better miraculously after his car fell ten feet off a bridge and landed upside down, making him go to the ER multiple times). And, as others have pointed out, he has told many other stories that don't make sense as well.
On the off chance that I'm wrong, I'll feel terrible. I just don't see much way that this could possibly be the truth when everything is added into the equation.

It seems this has taken an interesting turn. I hate to say I hope it's not true, because that would mean that a fellow poster is badly injured, but you would hate to think that someone would just lie about something like this.

Being in an online community, the members of which have to take a certain amount of credibility from other members on trust and mutual respect. In reality, there is no way of knowing if the person on the other end of the icon is a 350 lbs chinese woman with a needle in her arm, laughing at how the other forum members are duped.
However, some things about the people you communicate with (even if merely lurking) on an almost daily basis do come to light. There is a building of trust that THIS person you are sharing your thoughts with is a real person with morals and the ability to be upfront (even if only on some superficial level).
When that trust is broken with a hoax to garner attention, it is a break of that trust. I do not know if Strider is hurt, if he is well, if he has a girlfriend, if this is a joke (stupid and childish as it might be), or real. I do know that there are over 6000 views, 260 posts, and 13 pages of online activity devoted to this person who we all felt was badly hurt and needed our good wishes.
I hope that all our thoughts and hopes were not betrayed by an immature, malicious, and far from funny attempt at gaining attention.
