A New Dawn Beta Builds

That's the Full of Resources configuration screen that normally pops up when you first access the mapscript in the custom game setup.

Of course. We need a smile for that.

No idea why that appeared, it's not anything I've added.

Sidenote: If you ever get a popup you can't seem to close, the esc key will always allow you to exit the popup. ;)

hehe that's the funny part.... I do not lie when I said nothing will close it. I could not get it to close at all, esc was the first one I tried. I went into a host of other things with no luck.

P.S that was a standard earth map I was playing.

re: crash investigation

After searching the forums it turns out that deleting a civ in world builder can sometimes help, so this is what i did, and success, i can continue on. However, to add a twist to my ever growing confusion, it cannot be just any civ, it has to be one that comes after me in the player number list (ie i am player 33, so i have to delete 34,35 or 36) otherwise this 'fix' does not work. Added to this is the fact that civ 37 is now a minor civ (revolutions result) and removing the civ also does nothing. In terms of specific units, wonders or techs being finished, and causing the crash, i checked all 37 civs and none of them finishes a thing on the turn in question.

So, for now on with the game, but has anyone seen anything remotely like this ?, because i must admit to feeling a little defeated by this turn of events.

btw, I do not have the depletion mod on but a horse and crab resource both depleted. It was not an event. neither resource is one that can be found either :(

I'm testing 1.6 Beta 6. The Happiness/Unhappiness and Health/Unhealthy balance is perfect. Hard enough to make you think what to build and in what order, but not impossible. Good Job.

The Civics names: Some are all capitals and some are upper and lower case. It's a little thing but ...

Yes, definately. I was playing a 1.55 build with barbarian civ and new civ appearing,
with revolutions on. I once had a ctd without error log.

so I went to WB and deleted all barbarian cities. Fingers crossed and voila I was able to continue the game....

now I play on with 12 civs from start, revoultions on, barbarian civs and NO new civ emerge from barbarians.

I think civ 4 is just not build for 55 civs on a map or so... ;)

This may be a bug. I have the Pyramids and researched City Planning. The Irrigation Canals show up in all the cities as built, however it does not give me the additional 1 food per river tile and when you mouse over it on the city screen it says 4 turns 150 hammers, like you still need to build it ???

Maybe I'm missing something.

Firstly, to get the obvious out of the way. Is the city NOT on a river? If it isn't, then it may explain it since Irrigation Canals require a city to be on a river.

The Pyramids, as you know, gives you a canal on every city, which it has in my case. On the cities with rivers, it is not giving me the bonus food even though the irrigation canal is on the buildings list in the city screen. Also, when you hover over it, it says 4 turns in red and 150 hammers, as if it expects you to build it. This happens in every city.

Oh.

Well, we will have to wait till Afforess see this. I suspect it is more of RoM problem than AND, but we will see.

Probably a foolish question. I see that you have removed the Unhappy and Unhealthy icons above the city name. In it's place I see new icons: White foot, Hammer, Beaker, Gold coins and what looks like an hour glass. Can someone explain what those indicate? Thanks.
