I think I learned a valuable lesson today: Don't try to lynch ATPG when you are Mafia. It will end badly.

That is a lesson I have had to learn also. It is just so much easier to kill him instead, even then that is hard if your team mates don't allow you to do that.

People get too hung up on Askthepizzaguy, stop treating him like some sort of mafia God and you'll enjoy the game more. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing alongside and against him, and particularly enjoy games he hosts, but basing your playstyle on one player is foolish. As mafia I just let him work away at his "accuse everybody at some stage and you're bound to be right at least once" tactic, which Sasaki Kojiro does much better anyway, and let the silly town vote him off.

Have we ever been team-mates Pizza? I just realised we must have been in dozens of games together, and I don't remember ever being on the same side (excluding basic townies, obviously).

Talkative/flashy/dramatic player is more revered than quiet, regardless of actual W/L record. That's all Pizzaguy is, plus some lucky streak games.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing alongside and against him, and particularly enjoy games he hosts, but basing your playstyle on one player is foolish.

Mafia is very much a psychological game, overvaluing one player is much like overvaluing a piece in chess. You won't play sound, balanced games when too much focus is placed on one part of your/opponent's army, and not enough attention is paid to the rest. I remember when I was very young I'd play the a-pawn or h-pawn and develop my rooks early, because I loved those pieces and didn't know how to use a knight or bishop well. I didn't win many games with my favorite pieces, but I liked moving them around as if they were invincible...

Mafia is also a bit more diplomatic than just this. You have to attack some and convince others to support you. It's more than just process of elimination.

He overdoes it sometimes. His weakness is not selling his cases, often just posting votes with no reason and then switching the vote multiple times a round. Eventually he gets ignored for that, which renders him ineffective.

Depends on the mood of the town. Are they a-scared of pizza today, paranoid about me, or patient and forgiving? Are they feeling lazy/bandwagony and will just follow my lead? Some games it's better to murder me than let me keep firing randomly.

I have difficulty remembering obscure games with setups I didn't find interesting, such as cult conversion games from way back when, where I can't recall all my so-called teammates. However, if you're talking standard non-townie teams that do not convert, then we have not been on such a team together.

Yeah, no. My vote for Nija was purely a reaction to BigTin’s vote for JoanK. I thought his vote was especially fishy given the conversation right before it regarding JoanK and the fact that it tipped the scales back to JoanK being the lead for the lynch.

He doesn’t really. You are the one making a big deal out of this. All I did was highlight a suspicious post/vote that he made and changed my vote accordingly. A vote change that nabbed us a Mafia I might add. You are the one trying to make this into something bigger than it really is.

People do that with all mafia regulars people consider good players. You see mafia quicktopics say things like this all the time.

"Hey guys I think we should go talk to X *initiates contact with X*"
"Why?"
"OMG guys I just told X a lie! What should I do to cover it up?"
"Why'd you talk to X?"
"Okay, so I told X this and X is going to go after Y for now. Should I say we agree with going after Y or suggest someone else or what?"
"WHY ARE YOU TALKING TO X"

edit- as well as metagame around things that aren't relevant to the game setup. A player is always limited by the set up of the game (whether it's incredibly high or low, their is only so much to do)

You have been doing everything in your power to take credit for the death of the mafioso. You may have seen the writing on the wall, and decided to bus a partner for distancing purposes.

You'd get more credit in my eyes if you had been on that wagon from the beginning, not when you thought it was politically expedient and it would make you look like a savior.

Who is there voting for me, when the wagon on Ninja is blowing up? Why, it's BSmith. You were never very enthusiastic about lynching Ninjacow until BigTin showed up and placed the vote which will ensure that BigTin is an eventual lynchee, joining the K wagon, which you used to immediately make him look like a mafioso, and make yourself look good, by using this moment to finally join the Cow wagon.

This was bussing your partner at the moment you could argue a defense for yourself the most, for the remainder of the game.

And you'll never get murdered and no one will ask why. Well I have done S like that before as a mafioso. I know all the tactics, BSmith, I've been mafia over 30 times now. Don't try to pull this with me because I WILL SEE IT and I WILL CALL YOU OUT ON IT.
