In preparation for the chilling northerly winds that Britain is expected to endure this winter, I would like to check out a cossack hat and matching jacket.

Any ideas where I might find this?

It seems that the cossacks wore round fur hats of different "fluffity".

It could be cherkessian basmach.

Yeah, I own a couple.
Try army surplus stores (though could be slightly more expensive if they're proper Soviet ones, witht eh insignia, made from rabbit fur), or car-boot sales. But surplus stores are your best chance.

This is a cossack hat! They varied in time...


What you might want to get is ushanka which is really useful for winter. I can't send you mine, they don't sell them in the West

What stormbind means, I expect, is not the Stovepipe type Cossack hat, but the Soviet style Ushanka.
