Africa During the Cold War

Looks very nice, Virote. I love African history and I am currently busy with a Second Congo War scenario (1998-2003). Africa during the post-colonial period is really interesting, so I will be waiting anxiously for the release of this scenario. Have you read the State of Africa (50 years of independence) by Martin Meredith?

The terrain is beautiful, by the way. Is it new?

Thanks.

I've read parts of the book, I've been meaning to go back to it at some point.

The terrain is Ares' Terrain 2. http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=7337

I look foreword to seeing your scenario :)

You should. It's a goldmine of info on Cold War Africa. Thanks for the link. :)

Thanks. Understanding the conflict well enough to base a scenario on it was the hardest part. The Congo Wars were a terrible mess. I would like the scenario to reflect that. :)

When will industrial espionage be done ?!?!?!?!?!

I've got to do a huge chunk of the improvements/wonders, and then the GCON entries in the pedia, so I think it'll be a while yet :(

Aside from the Aswan High Dam, what possible wonders could you get in Africa in the past 50 years? For that matter, aside from the Egyptians, what wonders can you get at any time?

We were referring to another of my scenarios :)

Although I have quite a few small wonders in place in this scenario, IIRC.

Plenty - I found enough to put into my African scenario, and they were all confined to medieval north Africa. The rock churches of Lalibela alone are often called the eighth wonder of the world. Of course that isn't very helpful for this project, but still, the Egyptians weren't the only Africans to build impressive things over the whole course of history.
