AG10 - OCC Conquest (Emperor)

By looking at Detroit, if there is no corruption it has +3fpt with +3spt. It should be able to build a settler within 8 turns (and faster since they founded the city a while ago). So we might just use another 8 workers around the colony too. We can certainly afford the 14 workers. :)

Well, I started playing and noticed that the last 3 turns were far less time consuming. So here is the rest of my ten turns.

Rest of Turn 7 (1967 AD) I prevent the USA from growing using the worker blockade tactic. Troops are sent to Berlin to heal.

IT: panzer->panzer.

Turn 8 (1968 AD) I cancel all the deals with the Maya and lux has to go to 10%. Then I MA with the French vs the Maya, they pay us 8 gold. Troops move to Uxmal first. I believe that we have to raze their core above anything else. We will be able to attack in 1970 AD.

IT: panzer->panzer. No Maya attacks. America founds New Orleans.

Turn 9 (1969 AD) We are now two tiles of Uxmal.

IT: America already has a new settler pair ready! No Maya countrattacks. But France lost another city vs the Maya. Panzer->panzer.

Turn 10 (1970 AD)

Uxmal:
26 artillery redline tow MI's, a TOW and a tank. They also manage to get the pop to 6.
5/5* panzer vs 1/4 MI: 1-1, MI destroyed.
5/5 panzer vs 1/4 MI: 1-3, MI killed.
4/4 panzer vs 1/4 TOW: 1-2, TOW gone.
13/13 panzer army vs 1/4 tank: 1-0, tank gone. Uxmal is razed for 38 gold.[37-3]

Next city should be Chichen Itza imvho. We have the forces to hurt them seriously. I believe that we should strike fast, before they can concentrate on us alone. France is pathetic now. The American probably will settle a next city close to our line of workers. We should simply shift the line one tile NW.
We have a lot of money, but as long as no-one has Ecology I see no reason to steal. We only are interested in Modern Armor I'd say.
Advanced flight is a largely avoided tech in 1.22. That means: no radar towers :) Don't forget to send the navy to the Maya island.

The Maya have 77563 culture and make 170 cpt. So that's too slow to make 100K before 2050 (another 80 turns). I assume they are in mobilization. Without mobilization the Maya would get 100K in about 70 turns. We will not get to 20K (now 17131, 33 cpt).

Let us not rush things! Our troops are precious and we shouldn't leave too many panzers unexposed. We can afford to raze only one city per 2/3 turns in the beginning. Things will speed up later (as we saw vs the French).

EDIT: One thing: almost all our troops are on the offense and we would be sligthly in trouble should the Maya decide to attack Berlin. But we can recruit the MI that at this moment are guarding the colonies. Somehow I don't believe they will, as long as France is alive. I haven't seen a Maya counterattack yet.

What happened to France? I guess I overestimated the strength in Pompeii. I guess Joan gave up after her musketeer died.

Barricades will stop anyone execpt the units of the civ with cultural control of the square. If it is neutral territory, it will stop everyone.

I've got it and will start in on the Mayan core.
 
Once their core fell the French were gassed. That's why I said that we should not rush things. Losing units will hurt us very hard, with one city.

Looked at the save last night and there are 11 mech inf waiting in Chichen Itza. Our 20 artillery will not do a whole lot. I'm going to reposition our troops and take out their colonies east of Berlin and march along the coast. I'll pillage C.I. when I get there.

Are we saving the Leader for anything in particular? The Military Academy is available.
 
1970-0 Look at our convoy, worker walls and colony defenses. Complete a missing barricade in our territory. Move a few workers to complete a road on the saltpeter in our territory. (It will be pillaged later)I know we do not need it but for style I'm connecting it. Spend 284 to see that 11Mech Inf guards Chichen Itza. Use the leader to rush the Military Academy.

IBT Baltimore founded forcing me to adjust my worker wall.

1971-1 MA--Panzer pull artillery stack out of Mayan land. Return damaged units to Berlin. Start pillaging C.I. with army.

IBT Artillery takes a HP from the Army.

1972-2 Destroy the iron and aluminum colonies. [2-0]

IBT Kill a tank and a Mech Inf. [5-0] 4 MI's approach Berlin.

1973-3 P-->MI I only take 5hp from stack of 3 MI's so I do not attack them.

IBT Three destroyers attack our convoy. Kill two but the third sinks a battleship. Second battleship is down to 1hp. [7-1] 6MI's 2 TOW's and 4 tanks approach Berlin.

1974-4 MI-->MI Home guard artillery goes 1 for 8. Convoy heads to the ice flows of the north pole.
Kill damaged MI near Berlin and two vet tanks sitting on the plains. [10-1]

IBT Question: Where is France? Answer: Down to 3 cities. 3hp destroyer kills our battleship. [10-2] Cincinnati builds next to wall but I have not moved workers.

1975-5 Approaching Mayan troops steal some shields from our build. Kill 2 MI and a tank in Piedras Negras capturing 38g but losing a Panzer. Homeland Defense: Lose 2 Panzers killing 2 MI and 2 tanks. [17-5] Army heading home.

IBT 1hp destroyer hunts down and sinks our transport. Kill a tank and MI attacking Berlin. [19-6]

1976-6 MI-->P Homeland Defense: Kill 2 TOW, 3 MI and 1 tank losing 2 Panzers. Army returns to Berlin. Partial rush Panzer to insure completion. [25-8]

IBT Mayans turn around.

1977-7 P-->P Homeland Defense: Kill 3 MI and 2 tanks losing 2 Panzers taking one hp from a MI. [30-10]

IBT France offers a MPP and RoP and I accept.

1978-8 P-->P Healing and moving troops north.

IBT Dallas founded right out side our colonies. Smoke asks for peace.

1979-9 P-->P Gather outside of Calakmul.

IBT Abe kicks out or slave wall and they are moved to our side of the Pompeii choke and are promptly captured by the Maya.

1980-10 P-->P Kill 2 MI and take 39g and 2 slaves from Calakmul. Kill 2 MI and take 40g and two laves from Tazunal. Kill 2 MI and take 41g and 2 Artillery from Poitiers. Capture a few slaves. [36-10]

IBT lose a stack of 3 Panzers not covered with a MI. Do kill a tank and a MI first. [38-13]

1981-11 P-->P Kill 6MI and 2 tanks in Rennes. We get 39g, 6 slaves and meet Richtofen. [46-13]

IBT One TOW approaches Berlin.

1982-12 P-->P Kill 2 MI, a tank and a bomber in Amiens capturing 42g and 2 more slaves. Destroy 2 MI, a tank and a bomber in Cherbourg taking 43g, 2 artillery and 2 slaves. Kill TOW. Send damaged units to Berlin and move in on Andahuaylas. [55-13]

IBT Kill an attacking MI. [56-13]

1983-13 P-->P Kill 2 MI. heal and approach Andahuaylas. [58-13]

1984-14 P-->P Lose one Panzer but kill 3 MI taking 72g, an artillery and 3 slaves from Andahuaylas. Kill another MI approaching Berlin. Kill MI guarding Iron colony and destroy aluminum colony. Move troops on to Cuello and Chichen Itza. Army returns to pillaging and disbanding captured workers. [63-14]

It is not a round number but this is a good stopping point.

Maya down to 59MI, 13 tanks, 2 Inf, 4 artillery and one TOW. We have 14 MI, 11 Panzers(3 in Army), and 20 artillery and a MGL.

Any thoughts of opening the chokes and allowing Abe to send his Cavalries against Smoke?

Steady progress :) But you shouldn't have let those slaves stay in Abe's land and allow him to kick them out. He now is settling like crazy :( On the plus side: the Maya lost a lot of cities, be it not their core. I think it would be better to keep the troops in big stacks. We can't afford to lose units fast.

Our ships are gone. What about building helicopters instead of ships? We need advanced flight for that though. I am not so happy with that MPP. Suppose America attacks France...

Regarding the choke: we have to destroy the spices colony, but it is a good idea to have the Maya fight the Americans.

We can replace most of the colonies in the newly cleared land. The line of workers north of Washington was not stopping the settlements. He must has shipped them around the wall. I did not see them until the turn before settling. What I do not understand is why the workers were not pushed outside the borders but 2/3 of the way to Berlin.

Outside of our navy and the stach of three Panzers I though would be strong enough, the other 8 loses were attacking 1hp MI's from equal or higher defense terrain. The Army lost 6 hp attacking one also.
 
I didn't mean to sound too harsh. You made great progress and kept on hurting the Maya. That's the main thing. We can easily crush the Americans. I understand that microbe already had killed him in his mind, but I decided to spare them :(
