-- Well, in following suit with us being idiots, since I didnt escort our settler to our new dot(we had no escorts), he moves to his final destination spot only to uncover 2 barbs waiting to kill him. They roast his hide over an open fire.

Well, thanks to our settler being ambushed, we're seriously hurting. He moved to his final spot, and exposed the 2 barbs waiting on the mountains for him. I had no warning, and no chance to get him out of there. Sorry :(

We're uncovering more land, but very slowly. We've got pottery now, and I'm building the granary in Berlin to try to allow us to pump out more settlers. We have an archer building in our other city, so we'll have an escort for the next settler we build. Sorry for building roads in forests, but I figured we needed to connect our empire.

As for strategy, get that other dot settled ASAP. We need to get water to our empire. I've got the worker ready to mine the BG to start getting our other city productive.

Given the single, but huge, miscue with the unescorted settler, so far, not so bad.

A word o' advice from TGOMTG: roads before anything. You're going to need gold before shields.
 
Agree with the lurking Bookseller. We'll also need roads for military (duh!).

2110 BC - worker mines BG, change leipzig to warrior. See more barbs with our scout.

IBT - see incan scout, nothing to trade now. barb moves near leipzig.

2070 BC - :sleep:

IBT - barb attacks our scout. loses.

2030 BC - move warrior to cover worker.

1990 BC - There are alot of barbs in this map.

IBT - aztec archer takes on a barb and wins barely.

1950 BC - fortify a warrior in leipzig. Leipzig warrior>warrior. move a warrior to the river city spot.

IBT - More aztec-barb fighting.

1870 BC - worker mines BG, roads it. warrior attacks barb, wins perfectly.

IBT - Berlin granary>settler. barb attacks our warrior and loses, but takes 2 hp.

1830 BC - worker connects berlin to leipzig, starts roading toward potential city site.

IBT - Leipig warrior>archer.

IBT - Fudge. see aztec settler pair on horizon, going for river.

1750 BC - worker mining BG finishes, Mining sugar.

IBT - Fudge. aztecs are going to grab city spot.

1750 BC - fortify warrior on city site hill anyway. worker roading mined BG finishes, mines sugar.

Thoughts- berlin's terrain is fine for now, can't do much else.
 
Got it. Pre-save musing - gonna pump a couple of more warriors before concentrating on the archers.
 
OK, I thought that we only needed warriors for MP, for now.

Aztecs stake claim to water rights with Texcoco. Idiot seers see range war in future.

Worker doing auto road - SG faux pas.

Hamburg founded, R. Kroc appointed 1st Burghermeister.

Aztecs have IW, won't sell to us because they're afraid we'll poke an eye out with sharp pointy things.

I'll get more detailed on the turn logs as things progress.

Alternate Berlin between warriors and settlers until we get water to it. Build garrison in Leipzig then send all future archers to Hamburg. workers are chopping forest at Hamburg. When done, start archers there too. The dot map should make my thought apparent (yes, I'm only allowed one at a time to prevent overload) pay a premium for IW if need be. Get iron hooked up with a city asap. :crazyeye:
 
Preturn- I want Iron... I see no Iron. But we need Iron Working before we can see Iron... I might have gained an idiot part there.

We need to take care of the aztecs. Allin, build up in preperation for an attack. We'll probably have to attack about 2 turnsets from now.

Also viper, you're sure that there's no iron anywhere on our island? :eek:
