All about mistakes (Deity, Fractal)

A few more screenshots of the T79 situation:

Spoiler :

Civ4ScreenShot0022.JPG

I have tied up two happy reasources, which is nice, however I'm hurting for health. And it will get very problematic if I start chopping.
Civ4ScreenShot0023.JPG

They are giving away their wheat/corn to each other instead. :(

T79-T124 More mistakes!
As I'm going through these screenshots from yesterday, I realize that they are not at the same amount of detail as you have @Pedro78 , I'm more falling into the habit of just catching highlights.
Spoiler :

T80 Monty asks me to cancel deals with those vile americans. I have to decline. It's been a while since I have had this many requests, the only one I don't have a bunch of diplo hits with now is WvO.

Turn after turn after turn I had to put more into alfabet. All the others already had HBR, (well WvO was teching it, and I missed the opportunity to trade for masonry with him)
Civ4ScreenShot0001.JPG

I was falling behind too much in tech, so I decided I had to go aestetics here again.
This was probably a mistake, as had just reached a key military tech (HBR) and should have focused much more on just massing units. I was party held back psycolocially because I was still lacking math for the chops.

Civ4ScreenShot0003.JPG

At T100 the stars aligned for me to take Boston. Lincoln accepted casefire the next turn.
Civ4ScreenShot0004.JPG

T102 I steal meditation from Lincoln, he is going away and I want something for my EP. I was happily suprised that I could then sell it to WvO for 75g.

I'm on my way to CoL here to possibly bulb philo, but I still haven't gotten any religion spread, so pacifism doens't do me any good.
Also, alot of my trees went into failgold in parthenon (failgold is even sweeter when playing a IND leader), so I decide to go for an academy at this point. (400-500failgold is incomming next turn)
(Next turn priesthood finishes and I sell that to WvO for 60g)
Civ4ScreenShot0007.JPG

Have to get something from Lincoln while he is still around. I bet he regrets teching calendar before construction at this point.
Civ4ScreenShot0009.JPG

Was waiting for monty to thin out that 12archer stack Lincoln had, didn't pay attention for a while and now there is only 4 archers left, and I get a sense of urgency.
Civ4ScreenShot0011.JPG

I declare the next turn, and then another mistake reveals itself.
2 workers had just finished that quarry. It can be important to scout your own land sometimes too, especially before a DoW.
When I declared, that archer who was scouting my land was teleported to that hole in my culture next to my two workers. :(
Civ4ScreenShot0012.JPG

I got Washington with only a few HAs dead.
Civ4ScreenShot0013.JPG

Continunation:
Spoiler :

I went north with my HAs, to see if there was something left of Shaka worth to take.
This worker army looked really nice!
Civ4ScreenShot0014.JPG

WvO is just continuing to roll over poor Shaka, and Monty is finally sending some missionaries my way. :)
Civ4ScreenShot0015.JPG

I take his workers, and gift that city to Monty, got +3 fair trade for that, enough to get up to pleased. I
Civ4ScreenShot0016.JPG

I was thinking about trying to build GLib in Washington, to deal with Montys culture from Atlanta, but the forests are already under his control. Capital is the city with most production but even there it takes 10 turns to get GLib.
I have seen an artist born in a distan land, and parthenon was not built on my continent either. So I suspect I won't have time to build it anyway. So better to just get some cash at hand right away.
Civ4ScreenShot0017.JPG

Now I'm a Buddhist too, and Monty has some cash.
Civ4ScreenShot0019.JPG

I razed Lincolns last city when Montys stack where close to it. I was hoping to get some more trade deal with Lincoln but didn't get it in time.
I didn't want Monty to get a City so far south, and I plan on a city on the Deer too.
The turn after Lincoln was gone, Monty started plotting again (I love this guy!).
A beg for 1g (I could easily have begged for much more, but I'm unsure of the mechanics) and find out that I'm not the target.
If Monty is going up against WvO, he will need some help, so I give him CS.
Civ4ScreenShot0020.JPG

And off he goes!
Civ4ScreenShot0021.JPG

T124 situation:
Spoiler :

When waving off 6-city-Monty with CS, I realize that he doesn't have MC yet either. WvO (13 cities) will eat him for breakfast with his macemen.
WvO is rapidly becomming a huge danger and I'm thinking about going down MC->Machinery to trade that with monty and then join the war against WvO myself with but try to let Monty do all the heavy lifting.
Civ4ScreenShot0023.JPG

I'm thinking of revolting to burocracy+caste system, but I wonder if there is some whip I should do first.
Heroic+National epic is going around, building failgold at +150% rate. I haven't decided yet where they should end up, although one of them is bound to end up in Washington, which will help out with the culture pressure nicely.
It's a good production city, which speaks for heroic, but it also has Scotland Yard and TGW, so if I'm gearing up for a spy economy somehow (which I lack experience with), national epic would be better.
My lack of libraries is annoying for nat-epic failgold My two eastern cities which have ok production can't build natepic due to lack of libraries.
StPeters is probably a good candidate for heroic epic, since it's nice to be able to build galleons at half-price for later. Eventually I will want all those tiles for the capital though, but perhaps I can build moai there to.
Civ4ScreenShot0024.JPG

Health/Happy is a mixed bag. I have probably overwhipped New York. Perhaps I should consider a few buildings there so I can trade for less happy/health, or simply let it stagnate.
Civ4ScreenShot0025.JPG

4turns untill I can cancel the silk-dye deal, 6 turns for the marble-spice deal.
I'll probably trim this down and try to get mostly gpt-deals for a while.

Spoiler :

I can definitely see the runaway danger. I remember very clearly what happened the last time a fin AI got 13 cities...

Also, what in the world happened to Shaka? A unitspammer like him got wiped this early on? Brutal!

@Pedro78
I played abit more, T125->T143, but I'll wait with submitting turnset untill you have played the next one.
Short story is that I feel like I'm in a world of hurt from racking up abit too many small mistakes (this is how you lose games, one small mistake at the time), and I hope your play might give me some hope. :)

@krikav
I read your write-up, looks like you're in a great position!
I'm really busy these days, but I'll take time to post a detailed reply and to continue my game as soon as I get some free time.

Nice to hear from you @Pedro78 yes the position looked really nice at T125
Spoiler :
Culture flipping New York and then having Lincoln as a very squishy target was golden. I might have managed to squander that good position T125-T143 though... Will discuss it when you have time.
