Amerindians? That's way to politically correct!
True. "Red-skinned heathen savages" would be more in line with contemporary naming conventions

Whoa...
I used to do something like this. One day I chuck all the maps into the bin.
Pokemon World
It became an obsession at some point. I often waste a whole day finishing a map. I also came up with a history for each country, flags and lists of rulers, among other things. Over time different variations developed as well, either because I couldn't get the landmasses to "look right", or I want to do something specific with a certain country. One day when I was really depressed I just threw the whole lot into the bin. I'll probably start on another one when I have time, but this time I'll start afresh.
Well in that case... Im going to be petty and immature and say this.
"You Europeans spent the last 1600 years killing each other for things that you glorify to be so damn important "Ohhhh, Im a Pole. Im different than you... I used to so strong... My culture is soooooo Central European, I want independence." to such a high standard when in actual fact, they are stupid, arbitary and just plain waste of time. And then after getting your so called right to do whatever you want, you all declare that you are all the same and try to be one country again. And then, you bicker with each other and call the Irish douches because they didnt sign stupid treaty and plan to expel them."
Europeans are high maintenance and rather silly...
I can't, though I can usually differentiate between a Chinese and Japanese, Koreans, or SE Asians. If I see a white person I can't tell whether s/he is English or French or German.
North-Western continent on a fictional planet I am working on (occasionally):
(map shows biome and it's shaded - not very pretty, I admit)

And here are details of the major gulf on the eastern seaboard of that continent:

People usualy want to leave poor eastern european countries.
And since we opened such an interesting topic, it's time for some maps
WARNING, it's an old historical map so it uses terms which are no longer politically correct. I seriously hope nobody will jump to conclusions (or give me infractions) for presenting historical documents:

Something about that map grates me geologically. I can't really put my finger on it, possibly it is the mountain pattern, but something about it leaps out at me and shouts fake.
Like Romania right?
Central Europe is a bit different however...
Hell yea!Like Romania right?
Of course, it's clear from the map. Central Europe has a positive migration rate.Central Europe is a bit different however...
Out of interest, do you see Croatia as being in South-East Europe or South-Central Europe?
Think harderI tried to make it as geologically plausible as my meager knowledge allowed me, but I was never quite satisfied with it. If you could tell me exactly what is wrong with it, I'd be grateful.
Perhaps an unshaded map would help...?
