I tried to make it asthetically appealing, but feel free to make modifications if it's not. The basic idea is a unified British Isles, plus their pre-Hundred Years War territories, with interest(in particular, an empire centered on the Channel).

Somebody took the US already, and since my surname is of English/Scottish origin, I figured it'd make sense to cry Rule Britannia.

Ok, I'll take Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, the Arabian Peninsula, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Iran, Jordan, and the Causus region. I shall call it the Joecoolyottoman Empire! (and we've got cores on what is rightfully ours, Mathalmus!).

Mad Man and Mathalmus, I think you need to alter your claims a bit.

The neighbouring country rule is really just to ensure that there's no silly countries like Switzerland + Uganda which isn't connected by land or sea. I'll allow Mad Man's and Mathalmus' style colonies.

For that matter, can their countries contain part of a country or the whole country?

I'd say part of a country is fine, seeing that most people have already arbitrary partitioned countries.
