Alternate Timeline Building Experiment, v1.0

The Bretoch Kingdoms After several years of quabling, and civil war, a northern chieftan, presumably from the Gaert Kingdom, named Kronoss, will be able to conquer the other kingdoms due to his sheer military genius with tactics, and a heavily organised army. He will be able to conquer all of the British Island (Which will no be called the Kronesian Isles), and reform them under the Kronesian Empire. He will control all of the main island, as well as a part of Kronnos Island (Ireland), and northern Targarota (France). Goddess Worship will cese, as the religion of Wania comes into full dominance here

Kezyad (Kingdom) of Serezyl
Strengthen and centralize around the Seres (Danube) River, press towards the Baltic Sea against the Amestrians. One great Kezy (King) is Valestyk, who leads a great assault up the northern European Rivers.

Varas Kingdom
Begin to develop significantly as a merchant power, engaging in frequent wars with neighbours, specifically the Turun, who control the valuable Kuliuz (Bosporus, Dardanelles, and Marmara).

Savisian Ketada (Kingdoms)
Launch many wars between each other, and against all of our western neighbours. Possibly unite back into one great Ketad (Kingdom), under the leadership of Keta (King) Borudyr.

Hapistok Ketada
Generally squabble and fight all over the place.

Yansala Empire
Yansala is ascendant! Build up a great fleet, and exceed the decaying Voresian and Tesnaran empires in economic and military strength. However, our greatest weapon is our faith. Spread our faith throughout the Mediterranean, conquer those who refuse! None shall stand in our glorious path!

Yarala Kingdom
Isn't this part of the Yansala Empire?

Vespe Kingdom
We reject the foreign name 'Muterri', preferring Vespian 'Mutyl'. We also reject the presence of the Kriliks in our homeland. Push them out, into the mountains of the north. Once this is done, start turning our ambitions towards our Atican, and Voresian cousins also residing in fair Mutyl. Their time is running short...

Sarvonian Tribes
Continue the migrations along the great river systems, beginning to settle and develop a level of agriculture.

Daft or Lucky, could you give me some specifics about Waina?

Why is everyone else allowed multiple cultures, but I am restricted to just one? :(

Awesome! What happened to Sarih Kingdoms?

Also, Lord Aiken, we get our stuff from fragmention and migration.

First, Hsin Yuan Tribes.

Then, Sai Ren Tribes. Shan Ren Chiefdoms, Hai Ren Kingdoms

Then, Zarimen Empire, Hai Ren Kingdoms, Sai Ren Chiefdoms.

See?

Should I assume that Scandinavia has a whole lot of manpower and overpopulation now since the Germanic migrations never happened (or at least not to the same extent)?

Olan chiefdoms will band together until they reach a comfortable raiding size, and then will raid rich cities throughout northern Europe, starting with the most vulnerable ones first, unless they are offered something valuable enough. Their craftsmen are to continually work towards improving the quality of their boats, weapons, and clothing. They will-develop/have-already-developed a culture that sees cowardice as one of the ultimate sins (in fact a sin guaranteed to send one to their version of hell) and respects those warriors that kill enemies until they're literally bathing in blood and gold. Since they are attracted to riches moreso than any other peoples, they will naturally seek to join those tribes that are more prosperous than others, ultimately leading to [either a loose confederation of tribes or a half-centralized state; you decide daft] OOC: Basically, just kill and burn everything, and steal what's left.

The Otlav kingdom will seek to ally themselves with Olan chiefdoms, hopefully integrating them into their kingdom. They are also to raid nearby coasts (annexing any raided Scandinavian lands) and attempt to expand north. If they are raided by some Olan chiefdoms, they are to mainly use their other Olan allies to fight them, and of course attempt to get more Olan allies.

EDIT: I just noticed that I control part of the Sariv kingdoms: I assume that it's kind of like Novgorod's Scandinavian influence? Also, some background on how the Gaap are less related to the other Scandinavians than the Sarivs?

Sariv kingdoms:
Any kingdoms controlled by Alimanis are to fight other Sariv kingdoms (while forging alliances based on ethnicity, historic friendship, strategy, etc) and attempt to carve out their own coastal kingdom. They too are to use the raiding tactics of the Olan and Otlav. (remember, my people are quite distinct from the Amestrians [blond and blue eyes], so nationalism/ethnicism is not as anachronistic as it would be in other parts of the world right now)
The Alimani living in kingdoms controlled by foreigners are to share in the same warrior-raiding-cowardice=bad culture of the rest of the Alimanis. The poorer and more oppressed of them are to rise up spontaneously and help other Alimanis kill foreigners. The slightly richer and less oppressed are to either fight against other Alimanis, or for them.

Names:
Alimani(s) (I don't feel original atm) = the blonde and blue-eyed people of Scandinavia (most of which I control).
Novkoponebto (again, not feeling original) = the Alimani-ruled kingdom that might emerge in the Sariv region.

That's a good update. :) Funny how now I find myself in Southeast Asia rather than the China I had envisioned. Oh well.

In the Xanauk Kingdoms, this time period is an era of seafaring and trade. The technological advantages and organization from the remnants of the ancient Chuklikan Empire and the fierce bravery of the Xanto tribes combined to allow some of the most daring and well-financed expeditions of the time. They used these expeditions to establish tiny colonies in South America which provided trade luxuries for their homelands, which they in turn traded to the kings of the Caribbean or North America. Most expeditions were for trade or colonization, but some brave (or foolish) Xanto captains attempted to cross the Atlantic ocean and may or may not have ended up in Africa depending on what daft thinks ;)

Kaj and Champay Kingdoms: Unify with the Guraj Empire to make a super empire in India. The thought behind this is the growing threats all around and a centralized religion. These things should help with tech development.

Issec Kingdoms: Build a horsemen army and march up the Indus and push back the Honurai.

Vakharu Kingdom: Invade the Ceyloni Kingdom and begin spreading across the Indian ocean making colonies in South East Asia and Arabia.

Priorities for Toshion Kingdom

Expansion, Diplomacy, and Naval Power

As before the quest for unification will continue against the Takari Kingdom to the north, either through war, economic pressure, negotiation with political marriage as a possibility, or a combination of all these measures, whichever gets the job done and from there further expansion to the north through Hokaido to the Sakahlin islands and eventually even the island holdings of the Waeulta tribe. Go as far as is reasonable possible this turn in any event. In between this and that time however, the Toshion Kingdom will seek to gain an edge over its northern rivals by expanding its power and influence abroad, using the threat of the pirates to build up a strong naval presence and tradition to combat it, and from there engage in diplomatic coordination with other victims of the pirates from the Ch'u (Hai-Ren Kingdoms and Yenishi along with any others) using that as a pretext to improve relations with those nations and engage in widespread trade with the mainland through those connections and our growing naval power to protect them and enforce our position once the pirates are properly contained.

In Hai Ren. A known Alchemist, Li Chuan Zi, discovered gunpoweder while concocting 'Wine of the Heavens' for the local king. The King, soon to be reknown throughout Hai Ren and the kingdom of Hai Zui Guaz. (slightly different from chinease, It means Sea Children's Kingdom.). he is Ke Shin Yen. He used gunpowder, which is also used in New Year's Eve, to blow up an enemy palace form a year-long mine. Then, he rushes in. The citizens and armies all surrender as all the generals are there. Then, he establish an efficiant buracracy and Unified the land. With Escaping kings, and their armies rowing off in great fleets escaping the gunpoweder, now used to launch thousands of packaged arrows. The Hwachak. They will dot, Japan, China, and Manchuria in their rush to escape. After the war he set up a system of universities and military acadamies. His workshops producing the first Bombards and Giant Anti-infantry Hwachas. When he died his son is more a sloth, he kept the empire and continued the projects but few reforms of his own. This era ends with the last rulars revitalizing the nation with new project. Please don't put too much time!

The Sai Ren will be conquered by other tribes, but when the minoraty discovered stirups, they massed a Giant army of lancers and archers who can use the stirup to aim better, even shooting down a man from the top of a wall. They will invade surrounding nations but will keep the Road Operational, no dout giving other nations now posessing stirups to launch other attacks of their own. The century will end with a small centeralized kingdom along the road and a larger area of Sai Ren dominance.

Zarimen Emprire is split up into provinces. The population vote representatives and they go to the king's Council. They will vote on important issues and only a 5/7th majority can overrule the king's lack of support. They will feel 7 is more important and will support the Religion of Yansala more. Also, They will crush the Izaman kingdom and annex Sarih Kingdoms by scaring them by paying banits to raid but take nothing. After centeralization, a Great King advanced along the Silk Road annexing known banit hideouts. When they reach the growing Sai Empire they will stall, adopt, then sign a treaty of peace. Please don't spend to much time!

Thanks again!

but keep in mind that you are going to expand them to far.

Yes, I have yet to overcome this tendency of mine to overcomplicate everything. But the struggle goes on. Maybe I will find a way!

But, I thought there were goats and stuff up there. Could be wrong.

You're right, I looked it up and learnt about the Bighorn and Dall sheep native to north america and siberia. Somehow I thought america had no sheep/goats before they were brought by colonists. So yeah I will take that into account now!

It seems NESing = learning about everything, including sheep :D

Yeah, left that in the list by mistake. I guess I need to simplify that list somehow.

Lord Aiken said:

As Charles Li said, you get any state/kingdom/whatever related to your culture, which can spread by invasion or migration or whatever. Having more things under control may mean that the culture is more diluted though!

Hmm I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it :) But yeah I imagine the Gaap as finno-ugric peoples, and the Olan as 'some kind' of germanic, and the Sariv as a mostly-germanic mix of Olan and Amestrian with some random steppe people mixed in. I think there's still room for population growth in scandinavia, as the Olan were quite late at moving to scandinavia and the fjords. There hasn't been a long tradition of building longships etc, so there's not so much genius on that front. I guess what they'd build would be something closer to a mediterranean triangular-sailed design, influenced by Tesnaran ships, good enough for going raiding anyway.

EDIT:

Divided by diplomacy between the two neighbouring empires, making a kind of 'buffer zone'.

Lord Iggy said:

Unless Lucky wants to add anything, I guess its generic goddess-worship with a hindu flavour. The Yansala Empire is pretty much the heart of it now, as far as anyone west of the Indus is concerned, so you could add details yourself if you want.

Can you pump out an update tonight?

Hmm, Its already late here, and haven't started anything at all. Im going to wait another 24 hours at least to see if there is any more input. I've also got NESlife update to finish!

OOC: Charles Li, I assume your Chinese name is Li Chuanzi :p Gunpowder shall be invented in China, not some wannabe Korea! :p

Are those sheep capable of domestication? I mean, I would have assumed the original North American cultures would have done so if it had been possible...

Intrude: Bighorn pretty much can't be. Dall never have been. All domestic sheep are Ovis aries.

Hom Kingdoms: They have rediscovered manuscripts from when Hom was a single kingdom, and also remember many of the traditions and its magnificence. After relearning it, they have been rejoining into a single Hom Kingdom again, and with unified patriotism, have been steadily assaulting the Turu Tribes.
Zuru Kingdoms: Humiliated by their losses, they seek to become the empire they once were. Knowing the Yansala Empire is very strong, they avoid attacking it and instead attack the weaker Zwhu Tribes to the north and south. Also, they have been trading with the Choro and Hanaba Kingdoms.
Ceyloni Kingdom: Being relentlessly attacked by the Vakharu Kingdom, they escape over the sea and rejoin the Zul Sea-peoples
Vakharu Kingdom: Attack the Ceyloni-Kingdom while also invading their colonies.
Dagon Kingdom Fiercely resist any Vakharu attempts to invade, using the jungles to their advantage in defense and using new-found technology called "gunpowder" from China.
Zul Sea-Peoples: Having explored all the lands they know of, they wonder what is across the Pacific. Using their inborn boating ability, they undergo a large project to cross the Pacific, and if they do make it across, land somewhere in the Galapagos Islands and establish an outpost there for future voyages.

Turun Kingdom

The philosophical improvements leads to a golden age of literature, which spreads westwards, making Voresia, Vespe and Atica quite well-educated. The teachings of the philosophers Makkil, Butvers and Exapolutu are especially popular and spreads easily to the European nations.

Hapistok Kingdoms

Internal mishmash and loses some land to Kuparta due to a war.

Kuparta

Controls trade of the Savisian nations, leading to several minor wars with the kingdoms to the northeast, but none of the sides are strong enough to make a big difference. Kuparto is becoming beautified with more and more cultural statues, monuments, etc.

Civete Empire

More and more influence is gained with controlling an ingenious trade system. Lower taxes make more merchants travelling through Civetis, making the city richer. Peace is maintained with the Zarimen Empire. Civetis expands northwards into the continent, but with ingenious roadbuilding and organization, the nation lasts.

Yansala Empire

Nothing should really happen, no borders should change. Although the Empire should suffer from economical problems, making it lose a lot of prestige as well as becoming harder to maintain. So it becomes weak, but not collapsing.

The Timiquican begin a period of civil war which ends in one king unifying the island under his rule.
