Amirsan3- Diety Newb Attempt- Join!!!!

Yeah, I only made a dotmap for the next two cities we should get. My screenshot didn't exactly cover that much. :p

I can make one if you want, though.

amirsan-you can change, fix or totally redo whatever you want on the dotmap. the orange dots are the city sites and the pink is the culture-expansion for each one. the orange dot at the top by the dyes does not have a city radius, cause wasn't sure where everyone would want it. wanted to try to get the cow and the dyes within that city

I did just some colors so it is easier to read here it is;

Amirsan-Delhi-dotmap.gif

Someone want to extend a couple cities out to where those dyes are? If possible, it would be in our best interest to get them, however, it's highly unlikely, we might even want to send our next two settlers out to grab as far north as we can and then fill that part in.

I've played on diety, really all I play on now. I've dominated a few games and just never finished them. I've got one going now where I'm not quite dominating, but I'm holding onto pretty well.

I also said that if we were to grab them, it would be our next settler, if we can't, it's no biggie, we can just settle them in the spot before them and eventually take it from them.

May sound like a pain to go to war, but we actually have very few luxuries and only one extra gem to trade for techs or another luxury. Of course, I'm open for any kind of win and I'll put forth any effort needed to achieve that.

Heh, I've never heard of a histograph win on diety. Usually space race is done before that... way before that.

Wow! You guys got a lot done in a weekend. Hey, if I play too slowly for you you can drop me in favor of someone that will play faster. I will probably take the full 24/48 each time and can't post over the weekends.:( I feel bad being the hold up all the time.

I Got It! And will hopefully post tomorrow morning. My initial look show things to be going well. I am happy that we have 2 luxuries, horses and probably iron. I am unhappy that we only have 2 native workers, are -3gpt and didn't get everyones WM in the MapMaking trading round. The good side of being in a corner on a Panagea is it's easier to defend but the bad side is we had to buy all our contacts.

I haven't made a dotmap (I'd rather get my turn done first.) but have some comments about Belials and Takeos:
Belial, are you recommending settling on the BG to grab the furs? I was going to Settle NW on the forest so we have more food available until I can get some workers.
Takeo, I think you did a good job of covering the map with our territory but there are too many unused tiles near our captial. The tiles near the capital are the most productive and can not be wasted. I would like to see more overlap so that we can get the most out of our ancient empire. Things might get a little cramped in the Modern Age but if we don't max our production, we might not make it to the modern age.;)

I would recommend moving Pink 2 tiles NE . Pink would overlap 4 tiles with Delhi. There will be room for fishing villages spread out along the coast, especially 1 on the hills grabbing the 2 fish and sharing the BG with Madras.
I would also consider moving Green NW by 2 tiles but that is not as important. Once out of Despotism, we could irrigate grasslands and work the two gold mines, it would be unfortunate to lose the 5g bonus. If Green were moved, then a fishing village could go on the original dot claiming the BG and lots of coast.

I also think Dyes city could be moved 1 tile SE on our side of the river. We'd need culture up there anyway to prevent flipping and there is a cow we'd be missing settling it where the dot is.

I agree with some of your post, however, overlap of four tiles is quite a bit. I can understand up to three if we have very little room, but that is not the case, we have enough room to get out a second ring. Of course, I'm not saying don't overlap any as sometimes the best spot available may cause some overlap.

I also don't reccomend dropping pop to produce workers in Delhi, it lacks food now to produce settlers. If you want to draw one out of our core cites, that's fine but I don't think it will make too much of a big deal in the next twenty turns or so. Commenting on the dotmap, I'm also colorblind so they all look pink to me. Just make sure to keep on the river if available (which I'm sure you would do, but to making sure).

The city on or by the furs can be moved wherever, but it's still going to need a quick temple out of there to prevent from culture flipping to the mongols who will settle agressively right next to that city. I also think that will probably be the location of our FP, but that's not for a bit yet. The dyes are abit out of the picture, but nonetheless, it won't hurt to try.

As for the WM, I could have got one, yes, but we have enough map of our neighbors to be satisfied and I think the price to get one was very expensive so I decided against it.

Edit: Now that I look at it, if you move that city to the NW, it won't be on the lake and will need an aqueduct, whenever possible. try to build on the lake or river, saving aqueduct can be crucial because you can grow past six providing more production and not have to spend time putting shields into aqcueduct. It's not as a big a deal if the city is all worked and a core city as it should have high production.

Just my opinion, feel free to comment.

I agree with Belail on the City overlap and the worker producing. Every city should be independant in building thier workers instead of haveing other cities do it for them. Look around for trades on them.

@CF- Dont worry, we took the small break on Sunday :). At the most, what we could do is get some1 else to play along and place them before you so it would be filled in. We wont be thinking about dropping anyone for a small problem like that ;).

IT I like almost everything. Except for being -3gpt paying the AI. Also hate the fact that we haven't chopped the forest yet. If Delhi is our settler/worker producer then we are losing 2 turns per worker and 4 turns per settler without the food bonus. The forest should have been part of the granary build. Having that irrigated would also help Madras since we need irrigation there and the game tile is enroute. Trade WM to all civs for 1g. Shut off reserach as we will never get Poly before the other civs. Turn on research when Republic is available. Switch Madras to warrior. I ok building barracks but right now we just need cheap MPs for the settlers we're building. Bombay switch to worker because it will grow unhappy in 2 turns and we need more workers. Bombay with its food bonus is a good worker producer.

BT Ottomans complete colossus. Babs switch to Lighthouse.

Sell WM all around.

Barb warrior appears from the S. Barb warrior moves onto ivory.

This was back on page three or four, posted by you amirsan:

Roster:
amirsan- Your Up!!
Takeo- On Deck!
Belial-
ControlFreak-
Tsukemono5- Just Played

I had requested to go last because I had just played the first 15, and Control Freak was next to last. Belial played before CF.

Nice job on the trading, hopefully we can get out of despotism quickly.

I loaded the save and noticed the warrior I had put on the mountain to defend from barbs is still there. He was fortified so you may have missed him. Can the next person move him to search that other peninsula? We may discover something down there.

We also will want to start a harbor soon, we will have an extra iron that we 'may' want to hook up just for trade (no need, yet) and we also have an extra gem (or will have).

Edit: Also, are we playing ten or fifteen?
Also, Zulus established embessy? I don't seem to see that or any embessy. However, once we get out of despotism, it will be important we establish these, if not with just our neighbors to see if we can poach some cities.

It's also a good thing the ottomans grabbed that dye city, they're far north of us and that city will be pretty corrupt and easy to take. Hopefully we can take it before anyone else does.
