AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

Well, we just tried copy pasting the current settings folder + disabling everything related to XP and withdraw, but we're still getting OOS every 4- 5 turns everytime we try.

Here's a screen of the AND settings.
Could some settings be part of the save itself ?

I can also upload the save and currentsettings folder if you need it.

I use all those settings plus some more (Flexible difficulty, Flexible AI and others). Problem is that I think you have to keep all settings from the start. If you're sure you have the same UserSettings (and Config) folder, there's not much I can do. Last game I've tried on MP was on rev843 but I don't think much has changed since then, except Realistic Timescale which shouldn't influence OOS. Next time I try a MP game, I'll keep everyone informed on how it's going; if you want to try something else, you might want to enable logging and keeping records of when the game goes OOS (more here). I need logs from both players and each time you reload a game you have to clear your logs folder.

To be convenient, it should be needed to add a "profile" import/export to the launcher.
In this use case, "export" will make a single file that contains all the mod parameters. You should just give it to your friend which will "import" it. So, easy sync for everyone.

It would be also convenient to be able to quickly change configs files or share them into the forum.

Yes having something to automate the sync of settings would be awesome!
I would also advice flagging all the non-MP friendly settings, like adding a "(no MP)" to their name , something like that, so they could be clearly identified within the game.

I assume by config you mean the 2 ini files in the mod folder ? Rise of Mankind Config.ini ?
We also copy pasted these.

Also, somehow we had logs enabled. Here are our 2 logs from yesterday, after syncing the settings.
Is there any way to keep our game without restarting a new one ? Maybe resaving it as a scenario and restarting as a new game would work ?

I think that clearing the cache, clearing civilization.ini gameoptions and having the same usersettings and config folders (and of course the same revision, so every other folder should be identical), should be enough to avoid OOS which are not caused by code itself. Also I would avoid the options I've described above and probably archer bombardment too.

Edit: I'll have a look at logs when I have time. Also I'm not sure that's possible to create a scenario from a MP game. And I don't think it might work anyway, although I haven't tested.

This python error log says that my \warlords\assets\python\system\xmllib.py:9 xmllib is obsolete. Does anyone have a current one that I could have?

Why not just reinstall the game, oldnoob?

It is the same problem that I have been posting for the last two months.
From your response I guess that I am asking the wrong question in the wrong forum. I will ask my question in the Civ4 forum.

[RANT MODE ON]
I'm quite frankly growing tired by sarcasm from some people here on this forum. If you think you're not getting enough help, do as you please: maybe asking somewhere else will help you more.
[RANT MODE OFF]

If you're talking about the last problem you've reported about killing units with your stealth fighters I gave you an answer but I still don't understand your problem.

^^ Love the rant switch :bowdown::band:

On a side note, has anyone noticed that the AI seems really reluctant to expand on the WM 15 civ scenario? I'm in the early MA playing as Egypt, and with the exception of Catty ( she has 4 cities), everyone else seems happy with just 1 city. Even Shaka seems happy with just 1 city and not even bothering to scorch anyone... Just curious.

We tried again with the cache cleared + the config folder + the ini + usersettings copy pasted + the options mentionned disabled, but we still get OOS every few turns.
I could not find any way to resave as a scenario to try restarting as a fresh game.

Considering it was a game we were playing for many hours already, i dont really want to restart a new game from scratch just based on the eventuality that the issue would be solved with a fresh game, not knowing what caused it, and knowing the same thing might happen again when reaching the middle ages after hours of playing.
There's also no quick way to test a new game as the AI automatic thing (ctrl shift x) didnt seem to work in MP, so we'd have to actually play it.
There's too many options to try to find out blindly wich ones could be causing this in MP :(

So i guess we'll just give up for now and stay to singleplayer.

You can try a blitz speed game another time; I know it's not the best solution but you can test quickly enough if/when you're starting having problems again.

I had at least another similar report of AI not expanding very much early in the game. I think I can fix it, as I've already done albeit partially.

I've checked your logs but these aren't enough. I can see there's a difference in gold for Player1 between both your computers. Also a couple of workers have a different position for 2 players. But if I really have to try and debug this problem I need more logs, especially RandomLogs, which should be enabled in the ini file as I've explained in the other post that I've linked.

And just FYI you can totally ignore that warning, I have it (as everyone does) since probably years and it's not affecting gameplay.

Well okie dokie then. My thanks kind Sir.

I am trying to resolve the random ctds that I and no one else seems to experience for two months now. I have posted several savegames and logs that no one has bothered to look at. and that is not the only issue that I am having. I cannot get the More Music mod to work and Sogroon has gone out of his way to try to help me debug it with no success. So I am trying to decide if I have a corrupted retail Civ4 or BTS disk.
I have today started a new game from a fresh SVN download. so far this game ctds about once an hour. I am not posting savegames or logs because they are the same random crashes that have been happening for the last two months.

As to sarcasm (a byproduct of frustration), well, it gets attention.

Can it be caused by some hardware problem? Hard drive bad sectors maybe?
Oldnooob did you try it on an other PC too?
