AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

Sooooo.... I guess my question is.... Has the kill all option been nullified by the new civics stuff or something? I never use the kill all function. ever. and in this V855 game I am forced to chase down every stray unit, and also one leader actually made a permanent alliance AFTER I had destroyed his last city.

Can you post a save the turn before the crash and the one with supposedly died civilizations? Also minidump of the last crash would be helpful.

I've had that happen quite a few times, posted a few saves in the recent past too. Not sure what's happening there, it's like Require Complete Kills got switched on somehow but didn't - I mean like, some recent addition or modification ended up having a similar effect to RCK so it isn't on as an option but it is on anyway :crazyeye:

Starting a new Civ game right now but if I see it happen again I'll post more saves too ;)

Ok I was wrong about the Assyrian, he must have captured a barbarian city after I captured his last city. In my defense I had captured his last city at least a hundred turns ago so I thought he was long gone I destroyed the Myan civ after the Assyrian and the Hittite after that.

Here is the turn before the crash. it looks like the crash is caused by an attack on my warship by a Mayan warship. that was the last scene before the crash.

Hi, regarding cotton gin building. The help text says it requires cotton resource in city vicinity, but I'm being offered it as a build option in my capital, which has no plantations of any sort within its workable radius.

Revison 846. I played the giant earth map, and after I got 250+cities, the maintainance cost just go crazy(like >50000000). I suspect there is an overflow problem?

Hello, while playing I sometimes see (and generate) units that seem to have infinite experience, allow you to max out all promotions instantaneously. When this happens to the AI these units are virtually undefeatable. It happens quite often, so I end up having to go into WorldBuilder and delete AI units that have this, or abandon the game altogether, since this gets so frustrating!

Any suggestions or reasons why this may be happening?

Here is another crash dump 4 or 5 turns later from the same game posted earlier today above.

I got the game to continue by going into WB and deleting the one remaining Mayan ship before it could attack my ship. the current ctd did not give me any clues however.

What revision are you using currently? This sounds like a problem that was happening for some people (IIRC because of something relating to C2C) some hundred or two revisions ago, but has long since been fixed.

I just upgraded two days ago. I am using rev854.

Don't you have some building in the city that gives you cotton? East-Indian Company or something like that?

Access to Cotton isn't the same as having the Resource being in the city radius though. Former it just has to have the resource period - the latter it has to actually be a tile with the Bonus on it.

Did you start the game with that revision or did you start with a previous rev and moved to 854 during a game? Sounds like this is what was happening. Nothing you can do for this game but before you start your next one, delete civilization.ini and .bak

Are you sure your city isn't sitting on a cotton resource?

A know the difference between >access< and >in city vicinity<
I think that when a building provides you a resource it's the same as having it in city vicinity, after all your city's main tile contains the building that provides the resource. Isn't it that way? :dunno:

Your crashes are always caused by that problem of the civ not being killed completely. What I don't understand is why that civ doesn't get killed when you conquer their last city. You don't have "Require complete kill" activated, do you? Can you check it for me in your game with Ctrl+Shift+Q and looking if that option is selected? Thank you again oldnooob :)

It could be, did it happen straight after conquering a city?

What I'm saying is that if the text in this specific situation says one thing but those requirements aren't accurate to what it actually does, then it should be fixed to reflect the fact it doesn't care if it's in the city radius or if it's coming from an external source.

And no, it's not always that way (See also, many buildings in C2C. Can't have a "fossil dig site" or a relic excavation if the actual dig site is miles and miles from your city or even off-continent, can you?)
If it's just a building that refines or manufactures something, like in this Cotton Gin case, then I don't think it matters where the resource is coming from - but the building description should point that out.
