AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

Aaargh! Please fix those stupid dark ages, please! (Yet another one, just (approx.) 20 years after the last one (1895 now)! Hopefully the XML edit I did will mean it's not long).

Cheers, A. (appreciate your efforts b.t.w.)

Updated to 902 and I had 2 more Dark Ages in a row (that makes 5, 3 happened with previous revision) in the same game, blitz speed.

Edit: sorry, I meant to quote Afforess

I had game crash 2 times, especially somewhere near the beggining of renaissance era, so I had to start new games hoping it wont happen again

In current game I avoided crush 2 times loading game from a save which was about 20 turn before crush ( loading from a save one turn before always ended up with crush)
But now in renaissance crash occurs always. When loading from earlier save it occurs in +/- 15 turns. Loading from attached save ("X") it occurs always next turn.

I have standard istallation from this site
http://anewdawn.sourceforge.net/pages/install/
updated to
rev904
but bug occured in earlier versions too.

Thank you for the reports Janieyeti & oldnoob, we'll look to fix those crashes!

@janieyeti: I've fixed your crash, you will be able to continue your savegame with the next build (not released yet).

@oldnoob: The game doesn't crash with rev904. PS: What a massive empire!

I want it to be as polished as an expansion pack from Firaxis, but better :p With a team like 45°, Afforess, Vokarya, many translators and a pinch of other modders creation, I think this is a reachable objective!

I just reinstalled Civ IV (been uninstalled for a while), grabbed the and2_full_installer_2015-03_rev901, hit the update button and it updated to 904.

Launched the game and there are colourful boxes over all the text which makes things a bit tricky.

For some reasons, the interface isn't loaded. Could you attach the files Assets/Modules/MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls.xml & Assets/Modules/Interface/Default_UI_CIV4ArtDefines_Misc.xml & Assets\Modules\Interface\Resource\Themes\Civ4\Civ4Theme_Common.thm

Did you started the game with the launcher ?

I have some bug 2 days ago. Make sure you have steam-beta-unsupported version (if you use steam) and reset your mod in launcher "Menu -> Fix installation" :)

Yes, I launched with the launcher :-)

I am going to assume you mean the Assets folder in the install directory chosen by the installer.
C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn\Assets

Thanks for your quick reply

Where did all the citizens of this AI city go??

I was making some trouble for my neighbour with spies, and noticed that in this AI city there are no tiles worked and no specialists... but only one angy citizen, and the city itself is not in revolt.

Look for New York, on my south west border corner.

V904

Here is something I have never seen before, I have just arrived on scene only to find two completely empty cities!

I found one other about 10 turns earlier but it was in a war zone so I figured that I was just lucky.

I have never been in this area of the map before.

I'm on a roll today! :D

After a long time of Spreading Culture and provoking revolts and aiding rebel factions, finally I get the message that New York and Houston want to join my empire commonwealth, so I happily click Accept.... and nothing happens.

Attached saves are the autosave of the turn before, and saved after nothing happened.

I know, it happens. I forgot about this bug but it only kinda works when you apply enough pressure and a rebel faction appears. Sometimes another civ is spawned and that works. But when the target city is asking to join your civ, it doesn't work [emoji20]

So... cultural conquest is not possible?

I had gained another city by having most of my culture there (nearby city making lost of culture + spies), but to speed things up when the first two small revolts happened I just "bought" the city from the AI via diplomacy.

This time though the guy hates me and no price is good enough...

What are the alternatives, outside of obviously declaring war?
I could try to allow the cities to form their own civ, and then declare war on the rebels?
But the whole point of culture was to get the cities with buildings intact...
