Ann Coulter

We really shouldn't be surprised. We've been sending our trash to the US for years... now they've sent theirs up here. Fair is fair.

Who canceled her speech? The local paper says it was her organizer. That changes things.

Ann Coulter is not insane, she's a professional Troll.

This.

It is sad (and scary) how many people take what she says seriously. She does her very best to push her freedom of speech to its absolute limit.

Maybe one day she will get elected senator, since her liberal counterpart, Al Franken, managed it.

the student who were using their freedom of speech to protest?

No, the ones that threatenend violence.

I don't think Franken is anywhere near as crazy as Coulter, MB. I'm no fan of his, but some on....

I'm with RRW on this. Not even Glen Beck is as bad as Coulter.

And I disagree. I think Coulter is mentioned much more in the media, sure, which may in turn make it appear she is worse, but in his day, Franken said plenty of stuff directly equivalent.

Personally, I think Coulter one of the smarter pundits to be honest. Her wit is biting whereas guys like Beck merely weepy.

She is also good at dodging pies thrown at her. Even better than Bush dodging shoes.

Ann Coulter is nothing but a reactionary troll. But then again, that is one of the prime characteristics of many from the far-right.

And the far left as well. Neither side is better than the other where this kind of thing is concerned.

Wit eh? Give me an example of Ann Coulter wit please.

And don't you try to downplay Bush's shoedodging. That was epic, and I admire the man for it.

I do not deny that Coulter is intelligent (she very much is so), however she purposely says outrageously insulting things that puts everyone else to shame. I am having difficulty finding anything that Franken has said that even comes close to being comparable to Coulter's rants. If you know of any, please share. :)

Read one of her books.

But as in all things, ymmv. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. However, being on the right, and having listened to the Becks/Limbaughs, etc. etc., I find her a great deal funnier and a lot sharper than most of those folks. She is unrepentant about attacking the left on what she considers their home turf.........nastiness.....and she pulls no punches.

Now, in saying that I need to clarify that I dont read her column, I dont follow her every move, nor am I a rabid fan of hers. My observation is simply my opinion over bits and pieces of stuff I hear her say from time to time. I dont listen or read her anymore or anyless than any other conservative.

There is only one guy I listen to with any regularity, and thats Michael Medved on the radio, here locally from noon to three. Smartest guy in the media as far as I am concerned.

Read one of her books.
Rather not. "I don't like X" every book is not something I'd like to delve into.

And yes, she intelligent enough to spot a market for "I don't like X". I did read quite a few of her columns though, since on the other website there was quite the Coulter fanboy who used to post them every week. I was not impressed. Humour is not a string of insults, in my opinion it really lacks the clever connections that make up wit. It's nag, nag, nag. She sits in the same category as Olbermann afaIc.

But as a wise man once said: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.

so some crazy chick was not allowed to hold a speech at some university because people protested against it?

meh.

I didnt say read them all. Sometimes trying something you think you wont like is a good experience. ;)

(and sometimes its not)

I am sure there are some that find Olbermann entertaining as well. But thats my point, she is just one of a category that has examples of it on both sides.

True dat. Some find her fugly, some find her rather attractive. Go figure.

Probably the same kind of people who cause traffic jams because they're stopping to look at the wreckage of traffic accidents.
True dat.
 Good to know you haven't changed your mind the last 18 minutes ;)

Some people like Friends.

Anything's possible I suppose.

Are you saying that threatening violence is not protected speech? If so I've got some Republicans/tea partiers you can talk to.
