    Hi Rob!

    I am having a great deal of difficulty opening Worldbuilder to do a scenario when I have your mods installed. This ought to be easily reproducible... having activated the mods, it is impossible for me to open the Worldbuilder executable. I keep getting an error message. I can open an already finished map from the game, but the same map cannot be opened in Worldbuilder. I was able to succeed once, though, be saving the map from a game within the save menu; however, the same problem arose after I quite the map and saved within Worldbuilder.

    I hope this is not a universal problem as it makes the creation of scenarios virtually impossible. The problem is not even with a specific map since it also arises simply from attempting to open Worldbuilder from the executable and without loading a specific map. As well, the problem isn't general but specific to Anno Domini since I can open maps without the mod installed.

    As I mentioned, the problem ought to be easily reproduced. I suspect there might be some sort of graphical terrain problem as when I did successfully open the map, the mountains looked a bit strange and in the plot tab, were also looked upon as features as well as the height map (not normally the case).

    Playing as the Franks, the General doesn't turn forests/jungle into a siege weapon, but instead a settler.

    You're not the only one with this problem, and you're right. Not even Rob can open the World Builder with AD installed, which is the main reason why there are no working maps at the moment. I used to have this problem as well (and I might also have it now).

    HOWEVER, after Rob decided to put civs into packs (but before he removed all of them from the main mod), I did manage to open the WB and build a map (or a scenario with the 12-or-so basic civs that used to be in that version). I presume this is mostly a size issue, as it used to take a couple of minutes to load the pre-split mod (v15 for example) in the regular game. Add to that the time it takes to load the game itself (which WB does in the background) and it takes forever to launch WB, potentially ending in an error message.

    I suggest you try loading only the base mod and maybe one or two civ packs, depending on the type of scenario you want to build. If it's just a regular map, the base mod should be enough because you basically just need to place the custom AD resources. Move the other folders out of the MODS directory for that.

    In order to get assets from a mod to show in worldbuilder the simplest method is to enable your desired mods that you want worldbuilder to use, and start a throw-away game with those mods enabled. Play a turn or two and then exit directly to desktop. All of the changes made to the game's database made by the mods will now still be active in the database. Close all Civ5 apps of any kind (including Civ5 itself, modbuddy, LiveTuner,etc.), and then open worldbuilder.

    Worldbuilder does not use the list of all mods existing within the game's MODS folder, it uses the database as it was just before Worldbuilder is opened. So if you start and run a non-modded game and then exit to desktop, Worldbuilder will use that non-modded database when opened.

    Whether the total size of the database can get too large is something I am not sure of as I have not tried to push the limit of what worlbuilder can handle.

    I have the same problem.
    I have only the anno domini v2 and art files v2 mod active as well as just one of the civpacks ( i tried different ones). I tried deleting the cache and ModUserData folder and i tried different map types and different civilizations as well as different eras.
    Game should be up to date; version: .279 and i have every single DLC.

    I can't think of anything else to do except reinstalling everything which i'd like to avoid, so i wanted to ask here first before i chose that option.

    Seems one of the units is missing correct layer. Enemy was Dacia, if that helps to find it.

    Small pedia item... Carthaginian Republic is called France in the Pedia index under Civilizations.

    Also, will I break anything if I delete Bison in my scenario? The resource is a little immersion breaking.

    Similarly, I intend to have only custom buildings located in cities at the south and east edges of my European map able to generate Ivory and Silk resources respectively as otherwise they likewise feel immersion breaking... will this break anything as well?

    Finally, will you be introducing Pontus or the Alans. If not, I may repurpose the Khazars for the latter, but I'm not certain how to go with Pontus. Pontus under Mithradates IV (not I... you have him as the Parthian leader) was one of the foremost threats to the Roman Republic... so would be very welcome for my scenario. As for the Alans, I need them (or the Avars) as early steppe warriors... my preference is for the Alans in that they actually start with cities that would be in my map in particular (as opposed to the Huns whose homeland is far to the East of the edge of my map.

    Finally, I am curious if the Seleucid Empire is also on the drawing board. There is one on steam and I know you have repurposed other mods. It is not necessary for my scenario as I considering using them in the role of city state kingdom and general punching bag for surrounding civilizations (as happened in real life :) ).

    My scenario is going to start at about 250 BCE and involve the major powers at that time. Thanks to you mod, most of the powers that be are available except for the ones I have outlined above. Don't feel I'm pushing you to do the missing ones... I just need to know your intentions and if you are not developing said civilizations, I will do a mod-mod to incorporate them into my scenario. Otherwise, I will patiently await their development.

    So the Frankish Paladins do start converting forests into siege weapons once those are available through technology discovery.

    Playing as the Franks, however, the Great General counter doesn't produce Paladins (or anything else)- the Military Advisor screen showed that I had 2043/200 points for a Great General, but I only got Paladins from Faith Purchases or Great Wonders.

    An unrelated and likely a problem in the Vanilla Civ, but late in the game (particularly if you keep playing after defeating all other Civs) there are several Wonders and also World Projects, such as the International Games, which grant an free Social Policy. If all Social Policies have been earned, there is no way to continue, even if "Policy Saving" was selected in Set Up. This is different from accumulating Culture points sufficient to "Select" a Social Policy, where you can continue without problems.

    More generally, Wonders from late on the tech tree should be less focused on science awards, since there is by definition little science left to research. Culture is largely the same also.

    I discovered this problem when making Scipio. Apparently the game is coded to only look for units that specifically have been given the promotion PROMOTION_GREAT_GENERAL. Even if a great general unique-replacement is given a promotion that has <GreatGeneral>true</GreatGeneral> this is not good enough. It has to be the specific promotion the game is looking for. The alternative is to run lua-code every turn (for example) that has code such as:

    Hi Rob, Fantastic mod! I had a lot of issues with crashes but uninstalling all mods and only reinstalling the Domini mods (even though none of the others were enabled) and clearing the cache seemed to have fixed it. Although it still crashes most of the time when exiting the game.

    The current game had been going fine up until about turn 700 when I keep getting crashes during the AI turn processing. I've attached the database.log file so maybe someone can give me some clues as to what's wrong. I'm really enjoying playing with the mod but can't finish a game.

    These are from the Scipio mod and don't mean anything:

    The file that is failing (and creating those error messages) is for compatibility between Scipio and Civ-Appropriate Great General & Admiral Names. The file will simply fail of correct implimentation in a case where Civ-Appropriate Great General & Admiral Names is not being used, and you will get those errors. Since Anno Domini probably wouldn't like Civ-Appropriate Great General & Admiral Names anyway, those mod compatibility files could probably be removed. They will be in any case for the update to Scipio when I am ready to publish it.

    In the tactical map much of units dont have icons and they are invsible on this map. I have hope that u know this problem and will remove that ;)
