Play with me.
I'm only bigoted against humans. Feelthy Homo Sapiens!
Now that's a sentiment I can support!I'm only bigoted against humans. Feelthy Homo Sapiens!
The whole concept of bigotry against bigots is a trap to make meaningfully opposing bigotry impossible
That paints a hilariously pretty picture of Hindenburg. He was clearly no beacon of tolerance.
I'm not so sure you're interested in opposing bigotry so much as recycling it.

And who am i a bigot against?
The paradox of tolerance is really the end of the argument, nobody can refute it but the thread just keeps on going anyway.

There's is no end to the paradox of intolerance argument. It's an infinite genocide loop until heat death. If it's unavoidable, praying for death is the merciful way out. The milder response is "get me off this rock."The paradox of tolerance is really the end of the argument, nobody can refute it but the thread just keeps on going anyway.
You can do that. But we were talking about rights, weren't we?Wait, why shouldn't i have issues towards a group that historically have oppressed me and have fought to delay equal rights for me?
Just because conservatives are beginning to realise that their stances have an impact upon someone else and that hey, the social blowback might be too much to handle, doesn't mean i can't hold them in contempt for all the years they have supported and continue to support the same parties, the same policies that discriminate against.
You can do that. But we were talking about rights, weren't we?
The historic argument is rather tired. Should I resent the "Russians", because "they"'ve done horrible things to "me" historically? Or the "Swedes" for colonising "my" country for 700 years? Or racializing "me" as an inferior in the past? This all happened hundreds of years ago, of course, but where is the cut off point for historic greavance? Eh, this might be a topic for another thread...
The difference being? Are you done? This wasn't 100s of years ago, this was within my life time.
Next.
The difference being?
Fair enough, the cut off point is a lifetime then. That's fair. But still, you didn't answer what kind of restrictions you would like on the Nazis (and conservatives?) speech. I would be very interested to hear in all sincerity, because the way the discussion is going, I'm agreeing with the positions you are elaborating here. Are you done? It's different this time, is it?That they aren't somebodies distant ancestors, but people living today. What about that is difficult for you to parse? I understand your compulsive need to defend the more regressive sections of society but your gimmick is wearing thin.
