Any interest in a team match?

There are so many good anti-Sicilians out there & the various mainlines are good for white too. The Smith-Morra seems like a free pawn for nothing. Just gotta not blunder (easier said than done of course :D :() and I'm up a point in the endgame.

I got off to a interesting start. Plus I'm playing Azza in a friendly non-tournament game. I hope to win or at least draw (means I get a small jump in rank).

Yeah, he was logged on for most of the day so it turned into a game 60 or so. I didn't play all that well, he just kind of self destructed. Then we began game two and got a lot of moves in before he seemingly logged off for the day. I expect to win and go 2-0.

I'm not joining the 2nd team match, I'm going home for a couple of weeks in about 7 hours and I won't be logging in that often (haven't been home for about a year now :)). Best of luck to the team.

But I'll be back in early December, so if there's any new matches by then I'll join for sure.

EDIT: What the heck, 3rd board for the 2nd team match is 1591, way different from Narz's and Mehmed's opponents :D I'm in!

I'm hoping for a victory in my team match. The guy I'm playing looks kinda easy at the moment IMHO.

Hey BigFoot, just FYI, next time someone plays the Ruy Lopez against you & takes the knight & then the e-pawn you can play 5. ... Qd4 with a small but significant advantage. :)

Looks like you have a pretty good game going against that guy anyway.

Hehe, it looks like my game is venturing into the depths of a Yugoslav attack. I don't think I've ever won against it, but at least I won't have to think for ten or so more moves. :crazyeye:

I wouldn't know the Ruy Lopez if it ran up and smacked me in the head with a sock full of nickels. Either way, I'm fightin'! And I've got pretty good control of the center. If I can just get my rooks out into the open.

That would be a good call. I need to work on that besides my tactics. I bet it's why I tend to lose my matches. ;)

I think I need to move more slowly in correspondence chess - making the first move I see without really looking in depth just isn't going to get it done :p :shake:.

In my match vs. alicorn (1272), I'm giving a real tough time to my opponent. I think I am making him/her think a bit more.
