Any interest in a team match?

They'll underestimate us ;)

Thanks. My opponent made it easier than it should have been though. There were several scenarios where I could go wrong, one where I end up with K+B+P vs K but wrong color bishop and rook pawn resulting in a draw. I think I was winning at all times but it could certanly have been made much harder. Good luck to the rest of you.

I think I'm evening the odds against my opponent. Looks like he just won a big game, as his rank is now 1305. ;) Pray I can pull out the win.

PS. For those watching my Chess.com blog: Important post coming soon on my future availability. Not the best news unfortunately. :(

I've inflicted some of it with two checks in a row in my game. I've also managed to grab 3 of his pieces for the cost of only a knight.

Oh, I just should've advanced that pawn. Too late now, never too late to learn. :D

Makes me think about getting the membership (and thus unlimited Tactics Trainer) come the new year.

Yeah - she's an ex air stew and model.

Be a bit distracting over the board

A doubled pawn up in my match v Animal Lovers.

Might win, shouldnt lose from here.

Why'd you accept a draw? It did look like it had drawish potential but with the good knight & extra pawn I think you might have been able to press it (maybe I wouldn't have been able to press it but you're the mighty col :D) .

Admit it, you gave her a break cause she was a girl. :mischief:

I looked at quite a few lines but couldnt see any way of getting through without taking huge risks. If I opened things up, my knight gets a lot worse and the bishop gets a lot better. If I dont then I cant make any progress. The extra pawn is doubled and the pawn situation is symmetric on both wings.

She is a very beautiful woman! She's also an ex junior international and a pretty good player.

I couldn't come up with a setup for white that made it even possible to play for a win. I would definately have continued for a while. Looks like a good chance for a win, decent chance for a draw and negligable to no chance for a loss.

Edit: You got a post in before me... maybe I'm missing something. Aren't you threatning to play Rc8+ and Rc2? (not at once because of Rxd4 but if allowed and until then cutting off his king) If you trade rooks and play b6, f6 and h6 when neccessary isn't the knight better than the bishop that has no targets?

The only play I could see to try and win was to exchange rooks and then go for the h pawn. Several lines got my knight trapped. The bishop is just better than the knight with play on boh sides.

Its a dead drawn rook ending if I swap knight for bishop.
