Anyone tried drinking beer in the shower?

Is this actually a thing? Have I been missing out my whole life? Thing is I like cold showers more, would a cold+cold thing work as well?
No but I can recommend cold shower hot chocolate.

I tried using the text parser to type the command "drink beer" while in room <bath>, but it prompted me to enter some weird stuff about room number (?), and then I had a CTD.

I've never heard of this concept, though it sounds interesting. But as a general rule, I don't drink alone.

^It is essentially pure alcohol.

I think i only tried it once. That said, i never was much of a drinker, and haven't drunk any alcohol for more than 15 years iirc.

It's the preferred beverage in Iraq. I drink it most weekends. You mix it with water and ice. It's good, especially with fish. There are locally made brands but I don't know anyone who drinks them. Everyone drinks Greek brands, Keyfi especially.

What's up with the "80 proof" system anyway? Why not just say "Yeah 40% of this is alcohol, eh"

You've got to divide by 2 anyway, right?

The proof system predates such technical measurements. Originally, what you would do is soak a pellet of gunpowder in the drink, and try to light it - if it lit, then the drink was 'above proof' (which works out to about 50% ABV), otherwise it was 'under proof'. As far as I know, it began in Europe in the 16th century, but I think a similar test was done in medieval Islamic law to determine if a drink counted as alcoholic - if the powder ignited, it was illegal. Eventually I think they came up with a system of working out how far over or under proof something was, and the old standard of 'proof' was taken as '100 degrees proof'. I'm not sure exactly how that system worked, but I think it ceased to involve gunpowder after not too long.

EDIT: From a quick look around, I think the concept of numbering the proof is actually back-engineered from ABV, rather than trying to do anything fancy with explosives.

I'm surprised any booze is so common in a mainly Muslim country.
