AoHNES- Roman Empire

well, it's not historical accurate if he did... it's a change... so who said other changes didn't happand that we never got to know? like rome shape...

because, by the time he did it, Egypt was under Roman rule; the NES history has the only difference in the histories a rebellion by egypt, and the subsequent utilization of Herons inventions- thats it, everyhting else by default should be the same.

who said thats the only change? eq didn't made a change list... maybe there was in 300 bc an empire called bubulele in all over the world?

the change list was the history he posted as to the set up of the NES; unless it was mentioned there, it isnt changed

he said he coped from the history chanal... only 1 thing, somthing changed the shape of rome (eq bad map making abilities :P ) but who said it wasn't because that bubulele in north africa was defeated only in 2ad ;)

Xen, if every NES was historical accurate, it would be no fun. For alternate history, the mod gets to do whatever he wants, because anything could have happened in the past. The rebellion in Egypt could have taken legions that were suppose to be in Gaul doing something, and just that one thing could have changed the whole face of the world. If every NES was historically accurate, there would be arguments every time a mod did an update, people saying that something wasn't true, couldn't happen, etc.

because Rome didnt own it before 2 AD, and the rest of Northafrica was firmlyl defended; frimlyl defended, because nobody wanted it ;)

and that dosent stop the excuse of britian not belonging to Rome then; the Germans tribes being fa rmore powerful then they coudl have ever hoped to be at the time,a nd Rome being litterally thousands of times weaker in both troops numbers, and the ability the moderator gives the legions int he face of combat; i sent my troosp to quell the barbarians, and they retreated to a city, while in real life that legion would have marched and made battle, and more then likelyl would have won the day.

I'm not saying the the nes has to be played out as everyhting happend, just that justice should be done to what was done throuout the period, and at least the set up needs to be correct.

take a look at my NES for example, the second page has a good outline of the basic rules, and the first page contains a basic map of the starting scenario; mabey you prefer that anything could have happend at any time, btu I for one dont, if an NES is based ona historical period, even abstractlly, it shoudl still have healthy bleding of reality- it makes for an NES filled with more depth, and can lead to better fun, by truelly ingraining participents intot hier nations; such things happen often in your NES where you start out fromt he beginning of time, where history is void, and can be made by however the outcome of the game is played; indeed, in your NES take a snap-shot, so to speak, from your other NES, you insis on the naitosn playing similer roles as they did before- real life is no different, this NES is a sanp shot from the game of real life, and to inisist that the set up, and the roles are at least similer is no different from what you yourself have demanded before.

and Xen, read romes description, rome went through a depression and civil war, things dont usually go well when that happens

your forgetting- thats exactley what had happend in real life!

one fo the reasons the empire was founded in 27 BCE (a scant 30 years before the NES begins) was ot end the civil warsa, and restore both the economy, and the political stability of the Roman state.

yeah xen, stop renting why your rome should be strong and start making it strong!

Because like argueing and i havent said anything yet im going to say this.

Xen rome lost to egypt. Surely rome would have sent its best generals and legions to fight. Egypt won which means most of those died. Romes fading in this nes because of mainly that fact. It lost a war and many good men with it. To replace loses they probaly conscripted people the soldiers to the north wouldnt be the best trained killers in the world. In any event rome isnt equiped to fight horsemen using hit and run tactics like the huns did. My men arnt that different.

ok, to clear some things up an stop the spamming:

1. Rome has southern Britian for game play, and the Goths and Celts are unified for the same reason. Or you could think of it as being a change with Heron being around later than he really was.

2. Rome still is under competent leadership on average.

3. If any of you leave the NES because of arguing i will hunt you down and slay you.

Wooohoooo

Do they still have problem with horsemen?

historically, egypt had a single legion station in it; in fact, all north africa had only three legion in it;

the point-

A)the roman infantry was perfectlyl abel to deal with the sarmatians, who used the same tactics, and equipment as the huns of this period- later period Roman werent as well equipped, nor trained, whch led to thier losses at the hands of the Huns

B)Egypt was important for its grain, only; with out egypt, Rome would have to pay for its grian instea dof taking it as tax, which explains the continued ecnomic slump Rome is in at the beginnin gof the NES

C)If Rome felt no need to send more then three legions into all of North Africa, its big bloody signal tot hwe world that there istn any particuler threat, and that the provinces, with perhaps the exception of the symbolism the Carthigninan province serves, are not important.

Xen and all...Shut up,this argueing is not going to change anything, and quite frankly...It has nothing to do with the game.I'm sure we all know what happened durring the roman period. They rose and fell.Let us get over it and play the god damn NES

now lets not get this political ;)

now stop the spamming!

why fight? we are both tribes from far in the east looking for neither a run away enemy or new lands to live and prossper... Let us unite and continue to move togehter into both south and west until we reach lands youi could settle, and the huns that we wish to destory...

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
