The food is like an Arabic melody with Europena instruments. Many desserts,
also a lot of meat.

We have a bit Latin, a bit Greek, some Turkish, and mainly Bulgarian.

Bulgarians are bad. We call you "mangals"(something like calling an judeist a nazi, also- gipsey), we say that you're backward... And, ofcourse, we're not right!

How is Bulgarian culture similar and different to your neighbors? Food, language, music, religion, what have you?

Food- Not similar
Language- Very simillar, especially with the Macedonian...
Religion- Except Albania and Turkey, we are all east Christians
Music- Do you know what is chalga? Do you know who is Goran Bregovic?
No? Well, chalga is one of the most attractive and good kind of music and Goran Bregovic is a great musician (Something like Mike Oldfield for the rock).
But now chalga is bad music- it's singing for sunshine of love, more sunshine of love, morer sunshine of love. Now it's commercialised, and there're only few musicians left, making good chalga. Many people say that chalga is bad. Wrong, they just don't know what is real chalga!

Wrong, my friend, wrong. Bulgarians are stupid and everybody is guilty, even the wise Greeks... Only GREAT_MOTHER_RUSSIA is fine (nothing about the Russians, but... we're Bulgarians, not Russians!)

Absolutely right! Macedonians are just the forgoten Bulgarians. An example:
English: I'll kill you in a fight!
Bulgarian:Shte te utrepya!
Macedonian:Ke te utrepa!

Similar words (very similar...), same gramatic... We all know that the Macedonian nation was FOUNDED IN A PIESCE OF PAPER!(no, not scream)

Hapily, no. Many of them- ciggarrets, but cannabis- no!

That's basicaly the general opinion over here about Bulgarians, Gypsies, Magyars and even Turks around these parts. We also say lots of things about people from certain parts from our own country: Oltenia, Ardeal, Moldova. So we like picking on mostly everybody.
(it's not my opinion tho ... ok, maybe that is my opinion about magyar "claims" about us, but not the people)

Are pickled cucumbers so popular in Bulgaria ? I've heard a lot of jokes related to that.
