You should look on an encyclopedia before saying Bulgarian is pure slavic, with very few Turkish words. No language in the world is pure anything. And yes, you DO have Latin words. Quoted from Wikipedia: "The languages which have contributed most to Bulgarian are Latin and Greek". Actually, 25% of the words in Bulgarian are "loanwords", taken mainly from Latin and Greek, and to a lesser extent French and Bulgarian.
And I know from my experience that you do have Latin words. I speak a Latin language and I was able to identify some words in Bulgarian.

And you are not allowed to post in this forum in any other language than English unless you provide a translation. So, translate.
Edit: I was talking to BG-Zero, look at my other edit. It was a crosspost. But it's true for you too. ;) :D

Edit: 4-minute crosspost.

Balkanisation of the discussion!

Most languages (if not all; for example some entirely isolated tribe languages) have greek words. Some have even created new greek words, not existant before (eg french, english, german, so as to name new inventions or fields in sciences).

Greek too has words from latin and other languages.

Also Bulgarian is part of the Balkan linguistic union phenomenon, which mainly consists of certain grammar similarities between Greek, Turkish, Serbian, Bulgarian, and to a lesser extent Romanian. :) I'm not expert in any of those languages, but I've heard many times about this.

I understand. Again, my statement was not directed to you, it was directed to BG_Zero's angry post. ;)
I know
Balkanisation of the discussion!

Do you mean Bulgarization?

I think... why are the Bulgarians so grumpy... and BG_Zero, I'm in Ruse...
Maybe you'll come?

What is your opinion of baba Vanga? Do you believe in her prophecies?

What do you feel about the similarity of the two words bulgar and burglar?
Well, they are quiet simmilar. Really, really simmilar.
What is your opinion of baba Vanga? Do you believe in her prophecies?
Some people believe in Nostradamus, other- no. I'm from the other!

Oh and maybe there are no loanwords in russian we have a long history whit the buzntine empire so its normal to have so many forein words. And unfortinaly we have a perfectly good bulgarian analogs for them but some bulgarians think that they are a lot smarter if they say for instance "weekend-da" insted of "subota i nedelq" or "shoping" insted of "pazaruvane", "bahur" insted of "stud" and so on....shud i contunue. And my dear frend every one knows that bulgarian is part of the sout slavic group. And yes i agree that there is no pure languge.

The only bulgarian i know is Stoitskov, the soccerplayer, now the teamcaptain of your national team iirc.
Which bulgarians do you wish should be worldfamous, and why?

Why dont dont i open a bulgarian, serbian and a russian book and then we will se.And a little "flash" for you i cant even read greek and turkish leters. And another thing when you compare two langueges you shud pay more atention how similar are they in gramatic terms rather than their words pool. And an other thing bulgarian languege is slavic since the "Preslavskiq sabor" in the 9 century when slavic was oficialy proclaimed oficial for the bulgarian state. And since then to this day its slavic and lets hope it stays that way.

Some people claim that Macedonian is simply a dialect of Bulgarian.

Comments?
Well i dont need a translation when i lisen macedonian. And since Macedonia is newly formed country how on earth do they manage to creat a separate languege so fast...they dindn they just borowed it from us.Bulgaria has a large variation of dialects aand for a man that dont know bulgarian thouse dialects will sound like a diferent languege.Anyway i think that the bulgarian goverment aficialy proclaim macedonian a separate languege so if anyway if you are makedonian you wont even want my opinion .We all know that the macedonian goverment constantly says that bulgarians are tatars and thet they have nothing in comon whit the pure slavic macedonian people. But then again i dont care much.
