Ask a Dutchman!

We did that test in Highschool in sociology class. I failed...

What was the coronation like? Was it widely publicised? Did y'all watch it?

Did you see the concert by the Concertgebouw Orchestra together with Armin van Buuren?

Link to video.
The orchestra was actually conducted by a Belgian, Ivan Meylemans :-)
Ivan also conducts the wind orchestra that I play in, so I know him very well - nice to see him shaking hands with the king and queen :-D

I'm afraid you will, since many Dutch people who have attempted this exam have failed. Something like culture cannot just be gauged by a quiz but has to be felt yourself, which is why I strongly disapprove of the test.
Culture exams tend to have large portions of the 'nationals' fail them, as they're things that you're supposed to know. I'd've thought that fluency in Dutch and general history of the Netherlands would be enough, but knowing which old dairy farmer invented this or that type of cheese'd be ridiculous.

By comparison, I think the US naturalization exams are quite reasonable. I've once took such a test and passed nearly flawless. The Dutch naturalization exams by contrast include such contrast such questions as "what should you do when... happens".

Outspoken politician Helmin Wiels was murdered on Curaçao. 24 hours have passed and still his body has not been examined, as no forensic pathologist seems to present. Wiels was engaged in an anti-fraud investigation at the time of his death. Local police seem to have no clue as of yet as concerns the motive or even identity of the assailant.

Outspoken… for/against whom?

Dutchmen (he was in favour of greater autonomy/independence) and anyone in disagreement whit himself. Still no news on the perpetrator(s).

How the Dutch view the situation in Syria?

How the Dutch view the situation in Syria?
The have mixed views.

On one hand the people are generally in favor of the Syrian revolution, but on the other hand are afraid what might follow after Assad is deposed: A possible civil war and the influence of extremist groups.

Although it is strange how the humanitarian disaster (refugees, etc) is a bit invisible in the media.

I don't know about the latter (i.e. "the media"). I'm well aware that there are now over 1 million refugees in surrounding countries (including Lebanon, but excluding Israel). The Dutch government has voiced some concern over several youths who seem to have been recruited by a local (i.e. Dutch) jihadist.

As for the larger picture, the EU isn't jumping at the occasion of receiving Syrian refugees. I'm getting the impression both the EU and the US are a bit at a loss at what to do exactly concerning the Syrian rebellion, nor is it a big issue with the general public. (Even our national anti-islamist Wilders is remarkably quiet on this.)

Where does the Kingdom of the Netherlands get its current troublesome Moslem immigrants? North Africa? The Levant? Pakistan?

 Most of our local Muslims are 2nd or 3rd generation descendants from 20th century labour immigration. In recent years the immigration laws have become considerably more strict (which predates the PVV/Wilders agitation about this issue.). Currently it's mostly Eastern European "immigrants" (from fellow EU members that is) that are causing concern in certain circles - but, ofcourse, once again these are labour migrants. (Unemployment in the Netherlands is at the highest level since 30 years, and not likely to go down in the near future, although there are some economic indicators that things might improve.)

I meant the Muslims that Geert and the PVV tend to rant about.
