Ask a muslim 3

You're probably Shi'ite, heretic ;) , you should probably ask a few Sunni's to help you so it can be a real ask a muslim thread, otherwise change it to ask a Shi'ite muslim.

If I'm correct Shi'ite's pray to god "via" saints. Why do you do that, isn't the core of Islam being that you are directly and always connected to god.

Jojorah i can understand that you're from Iran judging from your avatar, can i ask you what are those big differences between sunni and shia islam? Do sunni and shiite people hate each other?

What are the most important rules of Islam?

Would you say that the scripture affects your everyday life and your views of the world to a little, medium or great extent?

Do you believe that poor people are more likely to be devote followers of Islam?

What aspects of the western, democratic values do you consider most problematic to implement in a true Islamic culture/state? Are there aspects in them that you find impossible to combine? If so - which, and what scenario would you prefer?

It would be a big generalization to say that Sunni and Shia Muslims hate each other but there are some places where there's a lot of conflict like in Iraq or where Shia Muslims are discriminated against like in Saudi Arabia or where they are sometimes attacked like in Pakistan.

There have also been some discrimination and attacks against Alevis in Turkey.

What do you think about violence against those who insult the islam?
For example, Theo van Gogh was murdered by a muslim. The guy left a note, which he stuck in his stomach with a knife saying it was a muslim deed.
He did it because van Gogh had called your profet a child molester and a barbarian.

What is your opinion on birth control (including condoms)?

What is your explanation of violent passages in the quran?
Quran: (9:5)
Kill the disbelievers where ever you find them
Quran (2:244)
"Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

edit in this question:
What is your opinion of the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy?

no no no no no im not from iran, im not shia, i dont believe in the 12 imams and i dont go to a cleric, and i dont believe in mutah. There has been alot of propaganda against shias put out in 'sunni' countrys, sorry if im wrong. And lets move on, no need to complain

(by the way, shias dont go to a cleric thats catholics, easy to get them confused. I will explain the differences

sunnis believe in the "4 rightly guided calaphs" who should rule after the prophet, they are the most pious people after the prophet according to sunnis. They are less selective in there hadiths then shia

Shia are like catholics in that they believe the leader should be chosen by god so they believe that only people related to the prophet should leave, they trashed alot of hadith to do this

No not all of them hate eachother, my father has many shia friends and he sunni.

(i chose the persian avatar because persian history is interesting to me

Have you read my responce concerning apostisty? i quoted some hadiths of my prophet (pbuh) ability to forgive

Also. Lets be fair, he was killed by a morrocan and can you please give me proof that he did it in "the name of islam?"

Obviously its not, done in the name of islam if it goes against islam

Thanks for the great question, its probably the best one iv seen so far

1. the 5 pillars of islam most likely witch are charity, the pilgrimage to mecca, prayer, faith, and fasting

not neccessarly, i go to fast and need to slow down at times to think, following the scripture is the goal of muslims, however thats the a test. our jihad for the sake of Allah (s.w.t)

3. Yes, compare saudi kings, to african somolian citizens

4. The hardest thing, would probably getting rid of basic curruption (p*rno prostitution) , and capitalism, as the system is haram did you know shariah banks dont go down when the stock market does?

What is your opinion of the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy? Its just stupid really. /i dont care, its a minority anyways

I can expect thiss question and im prepared for it

first the verse directly after the "kill disbelievers verse" goes as follows

“If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure that is because they are men without knowledge.” [Al-Qur’an 9:6]

Also understand this was durring the time when the pagans where attacking the muslims because they where ruining there pagan economic system. its said that at the battle of badr, not only by religious but by historians that the muslims only had 313 men and the enemy had around 1000 better armed men. the muslims where victorious.

Latter we find that when Muhammad (pbuh) entered mecca, he didnt kill anyone yet spared there lives. Even though they once tried to kill him and islam. they did not suceed. Yes islam was a religion that was attacked so its obvious that it will have some verses in the quran concerning war... Also your christian, as ive seen from previous posts, so when david took the holy land, its the same thing.

Pornography and prostitution are forms of corruption?

in my opinion yes. mabey you arnt christian, might have gotten you confused with someone else

Yes, he admitted that insulting muslims/prophet/islam was his reason.
After the crime, he was quoted saying to bystanders "this is what he deserved".
In court he also stated that the only way to heaven was the violence against 'the godless'.
For the rest, I really don't care about any religion. I just wanted to know what you think of this co-believer.

Okay then he didnt deserve it, im the biggest van gough fan, i dont know your intentions here, but the man sounded mentally insane, a muslim can be insane

You're a fan of Theo Van Gogh?

Well, actually yes, my mom makes it a big deal for me to get my art education, and the personality of him is more interesting then others imo

Actually, he was observed in a mental institute, but the doctors declared him fully responsible, as in: no mental disorders/no insanity was found.

You know what I never even considered the historical context! Those sorts of passages make far more sense now considering back when the Quran was written, Islam literally was surrounded and outnumbered.
