It is very spectacular though :) I thought that saber thing has more roots. Nevertheless a very catchy song :) Due to this I've somewhat lost myself for a while in soldier's songs. The best are Slavic of course and one of the best at that is (imho) "Farewell of Slavianka" :)

I don't know what it is about Russian Choirs but they got some Super-Power to move a man ! :) I really love Alexandrov Choir. They still visit Poland often and even sing Polish songs, they are amazing ! :)

Russian food online looks tasty but it looks kind of "heavy". By that lots of carbs and salt.

How hard is it to eat a bit healthier. Soups tend to be high in salt for example but I want to try borscht. But not supposed to have to much in the way of salt.

In guessing food courts aren't the best place to get food from (not here).

I'll try most things that are not fish or entrails. Our traditional food is based off English food. It's god awful only old people eat it now.

I like them too, many of their songs are very inspiring.

Amount of salt depends from place to place, it's not something inherent to the cuisine.
It's better to eat homemade food, but from my perspective in Russia there are good fast food options to choose from.

We don't really have our own fast food here outside of burger joints. It's American slop, or some sort of ethnic food which is what we usually go for.

Shawarma/Turkish is popular here and shawarma seems dirt cheap in Russia. Here is about 360-720 roubles. The more expensive ones are more like shashlik. Had that last week.

It's about 200 rub on the streets/markets, but I haven't bought that stuff for a long time. In fancier places it's 300-400 rub and pretty good.

Yeah that's cheap.

It's hard to make direct comparisons as prices in the provinces are cheaper but it seems about 1/2 to 1/3rd the price on average. A 450ml can of Baltika is 80-120 roubles, 900ml about 220.

Vodkas a lot cheaper. A nice cafe in St Pete or Moscow about 1/2 - 2/3rds the price. Yuppie places aren't cheap here either. You wouldn't get much change from 800 roubles. Mall food seems about 1/3rd the price. Kvass and black tea is really cheap.

A latte or something similar is about 200 roubles here, Starbucks a bit more.

Pizza is dirt cheap here though.

I suggest You make Your own borsch ! It is the only way to control amount of salt anyway :) You can find lots of traditional slav cuisine recipes on Boris's channel ;) (The best part is that the most of the components You can find in Babushka's garden ;) )

Yeah all the ingredients are easily available here. Sour cream can make a difference ours is 22% fat. I made some decent blinis.

I hate making soup though, and I'm not usually a massive fan. I prefer homemade soup from someone who's good at it.

NZers put beetroot in burgers. Russian like beetroot afaik. NZ burger can have bacon, egg, pineapple, meat, cheese, lettuce, onion and beetroot in it.

Americans wonder about the beetroot, egg and pineapple.

Well the US dose blame Russia for a lot of its you know bad stuff that goes on.
Its just weird to see that Russia blaming the US for this because the US looks like it got caught with its pants down, using test kits that dont work.
What I want to know is dose the average Ivan believe this ?

Russia Knows Just Who to Blame for the Coronavirus: America
The overarching theme of the stories that appear across the Russian media, from fringe websites to prime-time television, is that the virus is the product of U.S. labs, intended to kneecap China’s economic development

Lol with Chinese food standards or lack there of and good quality scandals it's not the USA. Their food markets are disgusting and the public streets can get used as a slaughter house with blood running into the gutters and drains.

Food inspectors here would have a heart attack in China.

I believe that if this virus is "made in China" we have nothing to worry about , besides :

Polish Vodka is good at killing Poles. And Russians but they can kill themselves with their own vodka (average male death age 65-67 iirc).

Just remember to sip at more or less regular intervals :D Just kidding , washing hands with Vodka is super efficient although I've got to admit it seems a waste of a perfectly good vodka :D

Joke about the Soviet era. My apologies.

An American, Polish and Soviet dog have a conversation.

The American dog says "In America when I'm hungary I bark until I get some meat".

The Polish dog says "What's meat?".

The Soviet dog says "What's bark?".

A bunch of freaks on TV trying to make a living off vacuum cleaner/children diaper ad money, desperately scraping for a conspiracy, transmutates into “Russia blaming the US”.

Hey, keep eating this. It’s designed to make you happy.

In soviet Russia the meat eats dogs.

I did some investigating. We have less variety now for international beer. Craft beer specifically pale ales are kinda taking over.

The Baltika range is one guy bringing it in, there's one website with Warka's but it's out if stock.

Sad news indeed. I've heard the Japanese are buying out all of the Polish and Russian alcohol to wash their hands with !! What a travesty !
