New song from Russia's best (only?) surf band.
(Trivia for red elk: former band members included the drummer from the band Leningrad and also the theremin player Lydia Kavina, a relative of Léon Theremin.)
I think they used the red highlight in the video so boys would be able to find Zombierella in the crowd of people. :)

Nice gift from American friends :)

I sent a gift to Russia, didn't arrive. Was told the English address was fine. 1KG of NZ chocolate either lost or stolen.

Should have addressed it in two languages.

That was spectacularly awful.

I forgot where I got this.
The Cyrillic word along the side: is it the artist's name or something about "self isolation"?
Keep safe and well Red Elk.
(Late edit: I just saw that you posted this one too!)

Ivan War
Just starting it now, lot of it is thanks to post communist archives and interviews with veterans which have been released from soviet censorship to tell a honest, brutal and tragic story. I wish that Russian would embrace this new more accurate history of WW2.
The average Ivan was the true hero of the war, millions of the average Ivans and not the glorified faked Soviet propaganda which give praise to the State and Stalin.

Soviet people paid the blood price.

What proportion of Russians today do you believe actually accept the less accurate version?

We get very little news down here about the progress of China's Belt and Road Initiative.
Do you get much news about how the initiative is affecting different parts of Russia?

It's still on early stage, IIRC. There are many infrastructure megaprojects being discussed, including new railroads in Far East, bridge to Sakhalin and Hokkaido, high speed railroads Moscow-St. Petersburg and Moscow-Kazan. The ones which have been realized, were usually tied to particular international event, such as Sochi olympic games, Kerch strait bridge, Vladivostok Golden Horn bridge, etc.

Of course you wish, but Russian feel no need to embrace your new propaganda, which isn’t all that new, at all. The records are thorough and were looked at from great many angles as years have gone by. We have been told countless stories of what you call “average” men and equally hold respect for them and our leaders, who made the victory possible through planning and management of resources. The Allies were true heroes, the Russian army were true heroes. From soldiers to the high command, all of them.

It amazes me that Russians are unable or unwilling to accept it, perhaps because it was one of the greatest miltary struggle.
The West image of the war has also been incorrectly shapped by the German accounts of the fighting and dont really credit the Russian enough, so I cannot blame you since we are guilty of the same things

History is not so clean, not so tidy for Ivan it was an unimagenable tragedy, much of it covered up.
Russian wounded pleading for death, the next day their clothing and equipment would be taken by fresh conscript not even cleaned, men sent into battle with just entrenching tools, entire units of men frozen to death out in the open.

Congratulations on the Victory Day!

Hope the world will never see another war like World War 2 was.
