1. It is a fabulous place to live, considering that I live in this wonderful state.
2. You mainly need to be in the outback to come across the most deadliest animals, so generally you are safee if you are in the main cities.
3. Most people that do that seem to go the England to do this sort of thing.

1. It depends on the area you go to. Margrete River is one of the finest surfing areasin in the world, so if you want excellent waves, then go there.
2. Just about every beach it a good candidate for some hot babes.
 
Best times for the beach would be summer to my knowledge. I hear that there is water there most of the year.

Sanabas - The tests attract my original comment. All good.

They may theoretically get back into power, but it is a matter for the geologists.

Bad Player - Harsh but true. At the moment, they have as much chance as Mark Latham being invited to address a taxi drivers convention.

Yeah. But I like a 1-party system even less than our current 2-party system. Especially when the 1 party is one I dislike so much. It's hard to see at the moment where a coherent, viable opposition party that can eventually get itself elected is going to come from.

The East Coast gets the best swells from the south. We had a big low sitting of the coast the last couple of days that has pushed in a bit of swell. Normally a low sitting off the Vic/NSW border creates a really good ground swell from the NSW South Coast up to about Coffs.

Best breaks.
Vic - Bells (Mornington Peninsula) in Winter, and further round towards SA has some great big wave spots.
NSW - South Coast has lots of fast powerful reef breaks. Sydney, good combo of break, point and reef breaks. Central, North coast have lots of point and beach breaks.
QLD - Lots of point breaks that generally only fire during summer cyclones or if the old Low moves up the coast. Pissy weak beach break. Good waves off the Barrier Reef.
WA - Perth is horsehockey, forget about it. Margaret and just further north is the most popular but if you want to brave the sharks you'll find some Indo style lefts in the middle of nowhere.
SA - Great point breaks. Losta sharks though.
TAS - West Coast very consistant big waves. Need 5mm in summer. East coast a bit of a waste of time.

What will the test cover? What kinds of questions will be asked?
The Government is proposing that the citizenship education material would be similar to and based on the introductory course called Lets Participate: A Course on Australian Citizenship which is currently delivered to permanent residents as part of the Adult Migrant English Program, and covers:

the values and principles of Australian society
Australian geography
Australia’s national symbols and emblems
Australia’s parliamentary system of government
the responsibilities and privileges of being an Australian citizen
Australian law.
Some Australian history would also be covered.
Test questions would be designed to test knowledge of that material. It is not planned to have a separate English language test, instead people’s English language skills would be measured by their ability to pass a test on knowledge of Australia administered in English.

In December 2007 / January 2008 I'll be (back) down under. 1 activity that is on the agenda is snorkling on the Great Barrier Reef. We are certainly close to Brisbane, possibly we'll visit Townsville or Cairns.

What is a good location to go to to be able to go Great-Barrier-Reefing ?

We also want to see the outback. Since we won't go that far inland and our way of transportation is most likely car; which parts of Queensland qualify as outback and are not too far from the coast as well ? (how far?)
 
This will be one principally for CH, for obvious reasons: it's been almost twenty years since I was in Perth/WA for two years (as a Mormon missionary). Update me: what's changed? (Particularly interested in the areas I lived: Fremantle, Rockingham, Albany, Bunbury, Riverton.)
 
Does anyone in Oz actually drink Fosters Beer, or do you simply export it to the US since we don't know any better? ;)
 
Whats your fave Aussie wine?

Mine is Nepenthe's Pinot Noir by the way.

Do you guys actually drink Jacobs Creek or Hardys much? Cuz those wines are all over the UK market.
