Assume there IS a heaven and Hell after death, imagine what its like.

Okay, how about this?

I loved my gramma, very much. According to popular Christianity, she won't go to Heaven.

Suppose I go to Heaven, my paradise. Would my gramma be there? I can't imagine it being Heaven without her.

i don't believe in such places but assuming they exist heaven and hell would be the exact same place. picture a sunday morning service with hymns, fellowship, and worship. to the good moral christians out there(all 5 of them) this will be paradise a true heaven, but for the rest of us that enjoyed sex, rock and roll music, and pursuing other sins of the flesh for our entire lives it will be Hell.

Heaven: Yummy burrito goodness! Everyone just plays boardgames while eating an endless supply of dlicious burritos.

Hell: Being ground to bits repeatedly by Giant Death Robots.

'Heaven' is dissolving into the Source.

Yeah. You're onto something. I prefer to use the word 'merge', though. Remerge, whatever the case may be. Right now, we're just extensions. A small piece, taken out, isolated in order to be observed, and judged based on test results.

It's kinda like bloodwork. Only if the vial tests to be healthy, you're reinserted back in to the body.

As for Heaven, well, I've felt glimpses of it. Pretty much the epitome of bliss, and peace, and the absence of any form of negativity whatsoever.

Hell, is pretty much just being at a distance from that (due to one's own personal stubborn/foolish choice). I don't think it's indefinite, though. I don't think it can be (I've felt this one as well), since it's so agonizing, I doubt you 'could' live there forever. Man doesn't live by bread alone, in absence of the Father, you soon die - spiritually. And that's about the worst thing you can feel. It's not natural, though. What happens is, you come back.

I said this in another thread, but I believe we simply relive our lives eternally right before we die. Heaven and Hell are determined by how much we enjoyed our life.

Spoiler avoiding threadjacking :
What do you mean by curing aging? Aging is not a disease or anything to fear.

Pound your fists into your thighs, four or five times. Then walk around.

Feel that pain? Imagine it's constant. That's one of the symptoms of aging, constant aches and pains. Include diminished ability to think clearly and constant fatigue.

Aging sucks, because you get worse and worse over time.

Spoiler :
I prefer to live old instead of living on a planet even more drained than it is now.

Yeah, sorry to interrupt the whole aging arguement, ;), but I believe heaven and hell are states of being, not actual physical places. If you lived a kind and decent life, you will see all the good that you have done, and others have done to you, and have your soul free from hate and discontentment, and be happy. If you still hold on to your hate and vices, you will be in purgatory, so to speak, bound by the chains of your own hatred, until you finally realize that holding on to hate will only keep you in ruin. (And yes, I do understand that I sounded overly poetic and Tolkienesque in this post, :p)

How you view the world can be modified with drugs. Ideally, one would be able to get a 'happy' world view without overly distorting the usefullness of your world view.

I think the happiest I've ever been was a couple weeks ago when I was really sick - and on like 5 different drugs at the same time.

So if Heaven is like that - being high all the time without all the negatives - then count me in!

Awesome, but assuming your rewarded into heaven for a good life.. would you be allowed to get away with blowing stuff up?
ye, i've been nice all my life, so that when i die i can go to heaven and for the rest of eternity blow up buildings full of fools who thought heaven was a nice place.

but seriously, i think heaven is like earth, only at a constant 62 degrees. hell is same thing, but at 105 degrees.
(for the non farengheit people, 62~16 C and 105~40 C)

It's simple:

Heaven - Chill with God and worship him and do whatever you want as long as it's not sinful.

Hell - Eternal burning that never stops.

My imagination at work :D

They both sound like Hell to me...
