What would we do without you Husky? :p

Not to pee on anyone's parade, but you can download the Microsoft Image Resizer...

Just a fair warning, I tried installing this and it didn't work while giving me some lovely adware for my troubles.

To keep it legal, any help resizing this? I tried it myself, but it just looks ugly.

Danke. :)

I need Lance Henriksen in his Aliens "Bishop" role in a Santa hat. I am not -set- on the image below, but I cannot find many that don't have the top of his head cropped. I do -not- want the one with him ripped in half... Thank you in advance for anyone willing to help me here :)

Oh man, Thank you so much, Chukchi! You rock! :)

One additional request, though. Could you please post the original unmodified pic for use after the holidays?

I'm looking for a still from the 2012 movie to use as an avvie. Namely, the yellowstone supervolcano explosion part.

I know there's this: http://www.yellowstonegate.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/2012-supervolcano-eruption.jpg

And this: http://www.awn.com/files/imagepicker/35/2012-05_Volcano.jpg

But I want the former, without the damned human figures in the foreground blocking the magnificent view. And as always, google and duckduckgo have failed me *yet again*, so I'm asking someone with better search engine fu than me to find a similar shot slightly before or after the scene with the figures in the foreground that doesn't have those figures, a perfect view of the explosion itself. Preferrably completely un-edited. The larger the image size, the better. :)

Not so much a request as advice, but I want to set the background of my avatar to be transparent instead of white. Anyone familiar with paint.net that can help?

Use the magic wand tool, set the percentage to something like 15-20%, and click on the white part of your avatar. I saved mine as a .gif because I'm not totally sure how other file extensions handle transparencies.

I don't have paint.net, but this was the best I could do with Paint Shop Pro. I know you said advice rather than request, but if you get tired of trying to get it, here ya go. GIF under 6K.

There is a problem with transparency. If you take a .jpg and simply try to remove the white background, you will end up with a lot of random white pixels that surround the image.

Yes, which are usually unnoticeable unless you're a perfectionist. Even so, it only takes 5-10 minutes of scrutiny to clear up.

artefact-less transparencies ftw
